Release id #157084 : Twice Effect Music Editor
After reading the story behind this: Shouldn't this version be "C64-Crack" released by insane [or insane + shine] instead of "C64-Tool" released by Twice Effect? The latter would imho be the case for the "original" version. Or am I missing something?
Thx for digging this up, btw.! |

Correct - I have created an entry for the code-protected original version here now: Twice Effect Music Editor
I have set the release date to the date when Shine uploaded it here; please correct if it was released already earlier. |

This is funny. Everybody who also guessed the code, which is just a simple keystroke, can add himself to the credits for the cracked version. Or add multiple release entries for people who guessed the code after the 4th of July ;-)
I think one entry is enough for both versions, without any crack credits. Release should just be C64 Tool. Btw, the tool is from 1991. |

Well, the crack version has the password protection removed, so it IS a different version IMHO.
Thanks for confirming the release year, added! |

Did Insane really released this? He probably is not aware of this. Seems like the uploader released it. The whole entry is wrong in my opinion.
Like I said, this entry should be together with the protected version as one entry. |

1. Insane did the crack and possibly don't know about this release.
2. Shine only uploaded the cracked version and this is not a release from him.
Why should the uploader get a (released by) credit anyway, when he is only involved in uploading and nothing more? *sigh*
That the facts!
EDIT:
Possibly Solution:
1. Ask Insane if he wants the "released by" credit.
If Yes: Let is like it is
If No: Remove "released by" name from the cracked version. But stay with the crack credit. |

its pretty irrelevant if someone wants a credit or not - what matters is what happened :) |

What really happened is that Insane found the keystroke on 7 January 2017 and not on 4 July 2017 like it is mentioned in the entry. |

But the code doesn't matter in this case - because the code check was removed. Therefore a "crack". |
