Sarcastic and shitty comments reflect one's own sarcastic and shitty personality. CSDB team of mods and it's owner Perff doesn't have anything to do with that. They don't accept blatant cases either. You don't need to love your moderators, but they do a lot of work around here you can't even imagine, and they do it for free. Least you can do is not to conspire about it in offtopic comments under release.

I've yet to see a context where those words would be appropriate. What a nice welcome you gave!

@4gent All taken out of context. Nothing new about you...

OK MuZZa, lemme see, so you gave us "old fart fools", "fascist", "our balls", "anal fistula", "the fuck". While complaining of "those who own and control CSDb" about their supposed heavy handedness. Can we have some more of that beautiful, constructive and mature language? Use some more, that will set things straight for sure.

@CreaMD I totally agree with you mate but that doesn't give you the right to make sarcastic or shitty comments to people. I already said it below, this's not the first time this has been mentioned in CSDB, nor am I the first person to mention it. and in the end I made a damm statement 'cause it really seems that sometimes some users of the database claim the power to regulate what is possible and what is not. Yes @4gent I can change my votes many times as i want. cheers!!

Judging by the fact that MuZZa upped his score for this prod from 5 to 10 after our little exchange says a lot about his standards. And the language is appaling.

Muzza, nonody sets the rules for what you can do with your releases. But anybody can judge them according to their own principles and standards.

Please stop hallucinating man. There are no "fascists" here, please holster your weapon. Maybe IDK try actually reading.

@4gent I fail to understand who the fuck are you to set up the rules of what people can do or not in they releases.

I fail to understand what gave you the silly idea that anyone cares what you in "our beloved The Codemasters" do?!? This space is for commenting on this here release.

hahahaha I haven't called anyone in particular "old fart fools" but I see that you have taken the hint. lol!!!. Also yes, it's a private repository and yes, the owners and those who manage CSDB, they behave quite often like the Spanish inquisition too, it's not the first time that this has been mentioned here, nor am I the first person to say it. Behave like a fascist perhaps also is not compliant either with the rules of engagement. For the gentlemen who're so concerned and worried about with the converted graphics: We use in what we do (in our beloved The Codeblasters) the graphics, the music, the code, the beer and joints that come out of our balls, and if someone doesn't like it, they can catch an anal fistula by hitting the downvote button. And yes, please, very please to the moderators, put an end to all this nonsense.

User Comment
Submitted by 4gentE [PM] on 31 January 2024
I urge the ones that "own and control this private repository" to warn the kind gentleman revolutionary before me that calling people "old fart fools" is perhaps not compliant with the rules of engagement.

funny @Oswald, I sent a PM to Rutterkin explaining exactly the same (but I call them old fart fools) By the way, we also invite him to The Codeblasters. In fact we invite anyone. The scene (this wonderful hobby) needs new blood (and if they're young, better). The problem also continues with CSDB, being a private repository, those who own and control it also seem to dictate the rules of what can and cannot be done in the scene (or at least that's what they think can do).

Submitted by Oswald [PM] on 31 January 2024
@Rutterkin, reason you are getting all these comments is because recently there was a big argument on this site, gfxers accused another one for converting, then they came up with "guidelines" that gfxers must show workstages, tell openly if copied used converted another image etc. This still hasnt died down, and your picture, that looks like a convert, came up.

Thing is that every one of them could be shown they are guilty of converting / using reference countless times, but that doesnt stops them, they are like the spanish inquisition (monthy python)

@Rutterkin: Nevermind all the noise! You unluckily landed in the midst of a bigger ongoing discussion. Conceptually, your pic is very very good imho. It makes the viewers eyes do all kinds of circles. The pixeling style will come. Welcome to the family, and please disregard any comments that came off as rude from my side.

Hello everyone.
I don't know if further comments are needed. Give me some time. A new job will appear soon. Thank you all again and I apologize to those I offended.
Getting to the CSDb forum was extremely difficult, but I managed to do it and I consider it my first success.
Thanks.

I stand corrected. As it turns out this picture was actually pixeled manually in such a way to look exactly like a very bad convert. @Rutterkin: I apologize.

Good evening everyone, I will briefly describe a few things. Our new friend met me some time ago and from word to word the conversation turned to matters related to retro computers, etc. I said that I work on C64, it turned out that Darek also had a C64 and Amiga in the old days, ok, I said great. We contacted several times until Darek informed me that he had purchased a C64 and the question was asked what to do next. Without a moment's hesitation I say invest in U2+ and you will be happy. This is what happened and U2+ was purchased. Darek asked me how I make graphics on C64 and I described the process I go through from the beginning to the end of the graphics. I informed them what programs I use and how I navigate them, and the discussion continues. And now the most important thing. Darek made various attempts at painting and chose mc DRAW online editor for the first painting described here. The editor offers various types of ready-made dithers that Darek used and modified at his discretion in his first work. The yellow artifact is a remnant of the sun that was supposed to be in this place, but the author didn't like it and simply didn't remove the pixels. Since Darek is quite confused about this situation, I wanted to write that no one! He did not propose, no one suggested, how to create an image. The boy is in the learning phase and creating his workshop with a selection of native editors and editors for PC. He was just experimenting with his first work which was published after creating an account on Csdb.

Quoting 'Jammer'
WTF is wrong with you, guys?

pretty much nailed it, though I admit didn't vote much higher than 1 tbh (= a 3 meaning it's definetely better than poorly zero effort converting pron but still shitty as it is for technical reasons like converting artifacts) but find the verbal fuzz/shitstorm (hopefully you see that even if my wording was maybe rude, it was constructive criticism) somewhat embarrassing, misdirected and inappropriate towards a beginner.

Bottom line: There's much room for improvement, consider HiRes, maybe use cross development pixeling tools instead of the converting, anyway, looking forward to your next release :)

Hello Rutterki,

Welcome to the C64 scene! There are a lot of unique individuals here, so it's important to overlook the trivial and childish things. Your initial artwork is truly atmospheric and skillfully composed. I look forward to seeing more of your artistic creations on the C64. Remember to enjoy yourself and keep pushing forward. Your skills in low resolution pixel images will improve with time and mre practice. Please do share more of your painted images on the C64. I really like the artwork you've produced, marking an impressive debut on a platform you've never previously explored.

There are many here that will appeciate your arts.

@Jammer:
1) I gave a 1 only after the author claimed that this was not converted. As I wrote, I gave a 1 for dishonesty. The actual original picture I like, as I also wrote. In fact, I apologized after it occured to me that perhaps there is confusion with the definition of “conversion”. And yet you are asking me “what’s wrong with me?” I find it strange indeed. Additionally (and I don’t mean you), people who encourage a newcomer to be dishonest are not acting as his true friends imho.
2) Please let’s not furtherly discuss things here, I’m sure you’ll agree with that buddy.

@4gentE: giving the release 1 and summing it up with mean and discouraging comment, you basically put it together with fast converted porn and scene memes released by people without eyes. WTF is wrong with you, guys? :) Still, I respect the balls to vote it publically :D

Personally, I have zero “problems” with conversions of own original work. Of course, as we can all see, conversions themselves wildly differ in quality. There are good, sensible conversions, followed by high quality manual cleanup work. And there are “lazy” conversions. But nevermind all that, in truth the only “problem” I might have with conversion is when someone claims that a conversion is not a conversion, that it was manually pixeled. I don’t fancy that. Sorry for spamming the comments of this release. All the best to the author.

My comment was too harsh, indeed. I am sorry for that. Keep on pixelling, but work a bit more after converting your original.

Submitted by Jammer [PM] on 30 January 2024
To be clear - I didn't ask to bash on converting like Hedning unnecessarly did, dunno why. I was more interesting in original technique, guessing on what dither did to the source. And it's imho pretty ok to convert your own analogue work - just an example of correspondence of techniques.

Oh, sorry, it just occured to me that maybe you are confused about what “conversion” means. If so, please excuse me for implying that you are being dishonest. “Conversion” does not mean you’re not the author of the original work (which as I said before I think is excellent). “Conversion” merely means that you did not place the pixels manually. Perhaps, I don’t know, your scene friends could have explained that to you prior to making the latest comment.

Aha, so you manually placed those yellow pixels. What an interesting choice!
Up until your last comment I was on your side buddy. Because your picture is exellent in essence imho.

Dear friends, thank you very much for all your comments. For the positive ones that build me up and strengthen me, but also for the ones I don't fully agree with, because they motivate me to continue working. I can attach hand-drawn sketches, as well as coloring and shading stages to the next image, so that no one tells me I'm doing a conversion.
Thanks ;)

I'm really glad that new people are joining the scene (especially if it's young people). The scene is full of old stupid fart fools who think they own it but friend converting graphics doesn't make you a graphic artist. Either way, Rutterkin, welcome buddy! The next one has to have a little more work.

Hello, Dear Stage Designers! I think the details of how this first painting was created will be described by the artist himself. The author is a resident of my city and he was fascinated by C64 to such an extent that he wanted to try his hand at graphics. This is Rutterkin's first work, I believe that each subsequent work will evolve. I am aware that this is the first graphic and the fun with pixels is just beginning. I think that the intended goal will be achieved by trial and error. Welcome to the C64 Stage.

@hedning really? oh.

On side note. Longing.. what appears to be a wired image. I have no issue with wired images, they are what they are.
Wired..

A new account off the back of one release. Hmm..
