Anyone know what's he doing these days? Would like to confirm some issues in HVSC with him. |

You can read the entire interview here in HUNGARIAN language:

that is a sad news, assuming it's true, since mr wax himself spread the false news of his own death

Although I see no reason with Griff not to believe it, he was a legal guy all in all. Sad news. :( I met him once very briefly. He was the kinda guy who liked to make music on the computer but was not interested in any scene matters. |

I just saw this, added by Mr. Mouse
"Alex/Chromance informs us yesterday (30-6-2017) that Griff has passed away, years ago. :("
There's also a post by Alex here

So it's more or less confirmed. Anybody knows more details? At least when he exactly died?
a translation of the mr.wax interview:
"Mr. Wax: This is a regrettable event, and even so, unfortunately, our famous musician Griff has left. Jazzy D was very close to me, we were friends. I started to modem with him, we did a lot of fractures, trainings together. Tragically young, he left us at 22. :(" |

It seems no one is in the know about the details surrounding his death. But man, what a loss. My subjective ranking puts him in probably the Top5 of the worlds greatest C64 musicians and definitely Top1 in the Hungarian scene. I still enjoy his tunes big time. Put his songs in a boom box or car hi-fi stereo and that makes you freak out, ageless. He made 8-bit Rave songs years before the Rave. He created such unique rhythms and riffs, there's so much soul and greatness in his tunes, truly timeless masterpieces. His name holds an iconic status in Hungary to this day but probably received some of the highest attentions from all over the world, too. RIP Master, Péter Varga.
Excuse my rant. |

When I think of Griff I'm thrown back like 30 years in time when I first layed my eyes on Burning Chrome. I was particulary blown away with the great soundtrack from a musician which (I then) never had heard of before!
Thanks for the great memories Mr. Varga. |

definetely top #25 here, as well
*wants to believe it's all rumours*
After all, apart from nostalgic thread necromancing (and being nostalgic ain't not a bad thing), it's still
Quoting 'iAN*...more or less confirmed...
we don't even now his year of birth as of yet, just BTW, but if a former group mate says, he is no more..., then probably there won't be any comeback... :_( |

Are there no local Chromance or FBI-crew guys that can confirm or deny the rumours? |
