Handle id #9015 : Warlock
Can anyone tell for sure if the Warlock who cracked mainly at the end of 1986 and used that intro with the running wizard is this one or Tri-Dos? |

Seeing as the "gut-feeling" approach to problem solving is so popular in the world today (yo George!), I figured I'd join in the fun.
This case seems pretty straight-forward, although admittedly the evidence from which I draw my conclusion is largely circumstantial.
All (?) the releases credited to Warlock (aka Tri-Dos) should be credited to Warlock. The releases credited to Tri-Dos's other aliases may very well be valid.
One clue can be obtained by looking at the fraction of Danish people greeted in the releases credited to Warlock, and comparing it to the fraction of Danish people greeted in Tri-Dos's early releases.
Tri-Dos Intro (which is not used before 1987) is probably just a rip-off of Warlock's original intro (used in several 1986 cracks), with new sprites and charset. Oh, and the sound which is looks like it was hacked on top of the original.
Forgive my daftness, but apart from this apparent rip-off and apart from the fact that someone named Warlock (namely Warlock, if you ask me) cracked Highlander, what is the connection between the name Warlock and Tri-Dos? |

You are correct on your question stated. The Warlock you
ask about is the old danish scener who knew Danish Crackers,
Ace, Sodan, Reflex, Heman, Sensei etc. from the early days
in the danish scene.
He later changes nick name to Warlock (around 86). He has
nothing to do with the english Warlock(Tri-dos).

What do you mean, The Warlock changed his nick to Warlock? He omitted the "The", is all? |

Sorry for being too shot on my answer.
Warlock, that is asked about, is an older danish scener who mainly hang out with the guys in Reflex Cracking Squad.
He used to be known as Spiderman but changed nickname around 1986 to Warlock
So the two accounts can be combined (Spiderman & Warlock) |
