Group id #1934 : The Gang
I recall a disk in my collection (before it was sold in 1992 ;( containg couple of TheGang demos. One of them was with the Zoolook tune by Rob Hubbard, screen devided in three colours flashing. But I'm pretty sure this was a Dutch group. Until the site thegang.nu announced at c64.sk today. Anyone knows there were 2 groups called The Gang? |

Ok, I might have gotten things all wrong here - but as far as i'm concerned, Alfatech have never been in "The Gang", and I think he should eagerly deny it if that really was the case. :-) He was as far as I could understand it a member of Sector 90 when the swedish "The Gang" rumbled around on the scene.
And yes, there were two "The Gang". One a largely Amigabased group formed around 88-89 by the shadowy figure calling himself "The Cracker" aka "Chuckie". There were quite a big article in Sweden's leading computermagazine at that time (Datormagazin) in which he bragged alot about his computerknowledge on the Amiga, and how he carded pirate drives, etc, from the far-east. The other "The Gang" was the one CBA formed. |

Jeckbuzz/Hack'n Trade had the following to say about the amigagroup (so maybe it's off topic?) "the gang" when I asked him:
Triangle consisted of Crack Force 5, Jetspeed and The Gang.
In one of the scrolls in phenomena megademo it says that the reason that PHA was founded was that Triangle consisted of too many lamers, so.. The best - from CFF and Jetspeed - founded Phenomena. The Gang was a notable absence in that scroll..
However, this is obviously Phenomenas version. Dunno what The Gang would say about it. Perhaps it would be more proper to simply say that "CFF and Jetspeed founded Phenomena". I think the The Gang-guys that visited LCP2003 seemed like nice and happy guys.

Suddenly all pieces fit in.
Sure thing it is Che, and it explains how he happened to be a member of Phenomena later. And it also sheds some light on what in the hell happened to the Nykoping and Enkoping based Amiga/C-64 group Jetspeed - I had not the slightest idea that they merged into Triangle.
Sorry, my mistake. You got the right man and the right group, and on top of it all, you sorted out some of my wonderings. Thank's a lot!
And by the way - of the people from The Gang at LCP, noone was a member from the really old days. :-) Chuckie (who wasn't there), aka The Cracker, is an original member and founder though. |

Someone removed KSH from the gang. Was that a mistake, or wasn't he in the gang anyway?
