Sounds interesting. What hardware do you need? :/ |

With a C64 you will need:
1. Midi interface (see list of interface names in the setup)
2. A midi keyboard
I have my midi keyboards connected to the pc so i can monitor the midi data via MIDI-OX :
Korg X50 -> Audiophile 2496 -> C64 midi interface (C-lab and FB Midi)
M-Audio Keystation 49e -> Audiophile 2496 -> C64 midi interface (C-lab and FB Midi)
Connecting directly to the c64 interface works (ofcourse).
If you can live with the delayed sound ouput in winvice,
then there's some emulated interfaces in that emulator.
I recommend installing MIDI-OX and MIDI Yoke first though.
Midi Yoke allows you to route "software" cables to programs on your pc that has midi support (for instance WinVice). |

how much delay does your program introduce? (i'd guess: one frame?) |

Notes with hard restart will take up to 2 frames.
The lag is not bad on c64. You will probably not notice it
when you play fast in my fifo mode.
Tied notes happens on the same frame that it reads the keyboard.
Music player is only updated per frame, i'm sure some lag time could be removed if it was updated instantly. |

ADSR bug/hard restart is such an annoyance in real-time stuff like this. :) Speaking of delays, that is.. |
