Please bring back [edit] for comments
Any reasons it's just totally disabled? 5 mins lock grace time maybe? Cheers. |

It's disabled because people removed their comments in order to mask stupidity committed in the past. |

Still don't understand why the product comments aren't functioning as the forum (only the last comment is editable).
A patch for that would probably take less than an hour.
But since Perff will very soon release the source, we could do that ourselves.

Fair enough. Still some grace time would work here I think. 5 or 10 minutes maybe. Or just same like on forums, seems to be working?
...aaaand :) facebookish likes/dislikes buttons for comments/forum posts can also help out in mass texting. Like/Dislike/Excellent/Crap and done :) |

A simple option to view edit history would do the trick, wouldn't it? Modification could mark a post/comment as "edited". Anyone would then easily be able to check if change was a result of an unintentional typo or an aforementioned stupidity. |

the $CBEB group aka "Commando Bring Edit Back" in union with
the "Bad Spellers Untie" Front hereby announce to keep whining in the entry comments and to start one new "Bring Edit Back" thread per week until the merciless technocrat yuppies from the establishment react.
And bring the beat back! |

Well, hey, if Perff says he'll do it, he'll do it.
There's no need to remind him every 2 years!
And drama is what we're here for, Groepaz.
Besides, it works for the rest of the world (read: Facebook) so why not here?
Oh, right... C64 scene. |

Leave it as it is.
CSDb
The C-64 Scene DATABASE....
If you wish to present yourself as a drama queen/king, by all means do so, but it should remain for all to see.
My 64 sense ;) |

All this edit disabling really made things worse and pissed off almost everybody. I really hate when shitty ideas are defended only by stubbornness and retarded reasoning - one problem out and bunch of new problems in - how fuckin' awesome! ;) |

How about at least a preview button on release comments? |

Show me comments that are in CSDb that may not be altered anymore.
IMHO, even if you delete all current comments, nothing valuable is lost.
If there is such comment, move it to a record in the database.
I already found broken discussions because comments were missing, but any soul could see that that was the case. Mainly because there were quotes while the post itself wasn't there anymore.
Still nothing we can't live with. |

If "theWizard" (or Wizard/Slothsoft ... yes, he is a real person!) hadn't stepped foot on this website and started verbally abusing people on purpose, then we would not be posting on a thread like this. He ruined it all! |
