database bug?

strange thing, noticed it with Combat Crazy +7 and Combat Crazy +7H - both entries are correctly credited to Master (released by).

now, if you add new release, and enter "combat crazy" as name, it will (correctly) find those two releases.

BUT - if you just search for it in the regular search, they will NOT get displayed (WTF).

additionally, if you look at the scener entry of Master - its not there either! (WTF)

edit: and it doesnt show on the frontpage either :)

tried as regular user? on masters scener entry i see the "decompiler fix", but not "combat crazy" (interestingly, none of the two entries)

edit: LOL - jeez. did someone recently add "easyflash release" as releasetype and then thought it would be a great idea TO DISABLE IT BY DEFAULT? /o\ (thats great, noone who uses custom view mode will see them, unless by accident he figures this out =D)

I'll ping Perff. We also added REU-release type.

yeah making them "enabled" by default for all users sounds like the sane thing to do =)

This is quite interesting, such a release-type, but how do we distinguish if a REU-release is a game, demo, tool, or whatever, now? Am I missing or not seeing somethings you guys do see?

This has probably never been mentioned or even thought about, but tags would be a great feature on CSDb. :)

As a first step we decided it was easier to do like we have done for ages with IDE64 and Super CPU releases, aka. non stock stuff. The clean stock productions are still sorted like they should. It's not crazy many of them. There are about 200 EasyFlash releases and not many REU-releases, so it should be easy enough to find what you are looking for if you want a specific EasyFlash thing.

why implement it like it was planned many years ago when you can just aswell monkey patch it?

you should know how it works here by now =)

Easier is not always better. While it seems the best of the worst solutions, it's almost always one or even two steps back.

But hey, I'm not a database designer, I just love clean and reliable data :-)
