Looking for disk dumpers
As the post states, I'm looking for people from around the globe that have both the time, hardware and experience to dump old disks to d64 images. I know there are some old topics on this but I'm looking to compile a "current" list for an upcoming project.
If you have the spare time to dump disks, I just need your general location around the world to get an idea of the coverage we'll have should this idea get off the ground. I know there are a lot of people out there sitting on disks with absolutely no time to dump them so I'm hoping this may help get the Treasure Chest overflowing again ;)
Thanks!

Ultimate-II+ and 1541-II here in Australia.
I also have a 1541-II with it's guts ripped out if I need to spin-clean dirty and mouldy floppies to get them loading again.
I have zoom floppy as well with a 1541, but I can't get it to work to make NIBs though. I should have another look at it.
I can also dump tapes. |

Thanks to everyone for their offers thus far. Not a bad start and it's still very early on. I mapped out the coverage quickly on Google Maps just to give you a visual idea. I would love to see more submissions, especially from folks in the US/Canada. As expected, a good part of Europe has pretty good coverage but could still use more so keep responding if you can help. The general goal is to match up disks/tapes with the nearest person to the source location. I'm sure there will be instances where we may have a batch of disks/tapes in really bad shape which then may need to travel a little further to somebody with the expertise on the proper cleaning method of said media.
Still looking for some folks in Asia, South America and possibly Africa?
Italy, Spain, France, Austria etc would be nice to fill in as well.
Here's the map so far
https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1XA7Bq01fpk7ZHXueMzK..
If you see a hole you can plug and have the means and time to plug it :P ... on the map ... please respond here and I'll get you added.
Thanks all!

It's better than nothing with a Ultimate etc, but if you guys are interested in many rereads and good dumps invest in a IECHost or run Warpcopy, or even the ZoomFloppy or XUM. With Sailor's tools it's good shit. |

I do use Warpcopy with my 1541 Ultimate, as it's the version with Ethernet built in |

Map Updated and filling in nicely...
@mason should I add the rest of the transfer team members to the list as well or is their time limited at the moment?
I'm still looking for some US/Canada guys because transit times/shipping costs, at least here in the US, can be brutal when shipping from coast to coast.
Where are my UK folks at? :)
I have been hearing that shipping times from the UK to parts of EU are pretty bad right now (1 month?) from Vinny of Freeze64. Anyone the can speak to that? From the UK to North Carolina, USA is a week to the day right now which isn't bad at all though this was for small items (Freeze64 and Zzap!64)
Thanks for all the responses so far guys! |

Valby/Copenhagen, Denmark.
Plenty of people from DK already, but if needed, would be happy to help out.
Have: IECHost, XUM1541, C1541 & 1541-II, possibly soon 1571 (if replacing the power supply will fix it), DC2N for tapes.
Some experience with cleaning dirty/mouldy 5,25" floppies as well (3,5" are more difficult).
Also does plenty of Amiga disk ripping, and have quite a few disk drives and ripping solutions such as Greaseweazle, Kryoflux, Drawbridge etc.
Good initiative, looking forward to be on the map, so to speak ;). |

I updated the map and also added a column for what equipment people had and filled that in if you mentioned it in your post as well as if you were able to dump tapes. I also added a notes column which I used to add your experience if you listed it in your reply.
Thanks guys! |

Added Maestro, DuncanTwain and Dymo to the map.
I hope this thread has been helpful to folks looking to get disks/tapes dumped. With postal costs at an all-time high it just makes sense to try to find capable people as close to the source as possible which was the reason I started this whole thing.
Thanks to all that have offered their time and experience here and hopefully we see some more additions to the Treasure Chest threads and the CSDb database for a long time to come!
If you have some free time and the knowledge and equipment to dump disks/tapes, drop a message here! A general location is preferable but not needed and the equipment you use for your dumping is a plus.
