info: Release-website is not Group-website
This seems to be one of the most common mistakes people do, when adding to CSDb. I've just fixed this for the 1024th time, so now it must be time to make this clear :) (someday we should write a bigger help-file..). On the edit-page of a release-record you can enter an URL to a website. But...
A group-website is NOT a release-website
A release-website is a site (or a subpage of a site) that's *specially dedicated* to the release.
(as the little "??"-help next to it on the edit-page says) In other words, it must be about that release only.
(ofcause, if there are different versions of the release it's ok if the website is about all those versions)
If someone wants to know the URL of a group-website, he goes to the group-entry in CSDb and checks it there.
If there is a website-url at a release record, one would expect that this website will be about the release.
so please don't just put an URL to your groups website in a release-record. Put it in the group-record ONLY.
----------------------------------------------
for example, these are ok:
Singles Collection Volume 2
Astrostorm
Scene World #10
Star Commander V0.82
Mood Preview V2
CyberTracker V1.01
a bit in the grey area, but still ok:
VICE V1.14
(since the website is *only* about the vice-release - the viceteam *only* makes vice)
even an url to the pouet-entry would be okay i guess, like here: Happy Birthday JTR ...But not the group-website! ;)

I have corrected all issues of Scene World and now they have their responsible issue.php as release url.
Like e.g. http://sceneworld.c64.org/issue_13.php.
Phew! Uuite some work, hope that is in your belief! |

Thank you! This is even better than before, but it would also have been allright if all the sceneworld issues were on the same page. You could see them a bit like different versions of the same release, so that would be ok.
But this is even better, so thanx! |

I can't update/upload the entry though, I see it's locked. |
