Ninjatracker difficulty
Just started this thread out of curiosity.. How many have actually tried ninjatracker and what do you think how easy/hard it is to use? As it just basically gives you 3 hex-tables for the sounds, and a general "change wave-table pointer" command in the sector data, I can imagine it's not that friendly :)
Of course this is not about changing the program to suit anyone's requests :D, as I'm 100% satisfied myself, just want to know. (I know Puterman at least has used it 'cos he wanted the GT->NT convertor util in the first place :)) |

I don't think it's much worse than eg. DMC 4 or SIDWinder. And well, I think it's easier to work with than JCH v19. |

i find jch easier to work with, but ninjatracker a bit more easy than your older sadotracker. =) |

Feels like a well-designed tool: instantly familiar even at the first touch.
Brilliant tracker. My kind of stuff. Simple and effective like guitar -> cable -> Marshall, end of story :) |

I was just thinking about this and then used the forum search function, finding this thread 2003 --> 2009.
From quick try i must say its (for me) kind of painful.
Correct my if im wrong, but due to the conversion-tool, this is the closest thing to cross-platform, native C64 to PC Goattracker, right?
How i wish Sidwizard had both export-import of GT/ninjatracker songs. (Right now it sadly seems to only convert one-way direction, instead of both ways, for GT). |

Remember the featureset is not the same, so some GT2 things would be unable to get converted properly.
In general, NT2.x is much friendlier to use on its own than the NT1.x versions.
Personally I no longer use NT2 either, but convert automatically into "miniplayer" and "miniplayer2" (on github) formats using similar tooling. These are even more limited than NT2, but use even less CPU. |
