CSDb problems the last week.
I keep getting questions about what is happening to CSDb so now I'll write down the whole story.
CSDb has for the last 2 year been hosted for free by my former employee on a commercial server with 24/7 surveillance.
Last wednesday some jerk decided that he wanted a copy of ALL pages in CSDb and started leeching. This caused a major load on the server and all the mobile phones at the people who are monitoring the server started beeping.
Because of this it was decided that CSDb should be moved to a non commercial server. This was done very fast and without any check from their side (which I can't blame them for since I don't pay them anything. :) ) so a lot of things were not working correctly.
As I found the bugs I mailed them to the admin of the new server and hoped they would fix it. After a day or so they tried to fix one problem but didn't really bother to check if CSDb really worked (again no blame.) so it was up to me again to check that, and when I found out that it still didn't work send another mail.
But NOW everything should be fixed - I hope.
If anyone experience some weird errors on CSDb which are continously (happens again and again) please pass it on (mail it or post here), and I'll fix it / send another mail.
/CSDb Admin
PS.
CSDb is hosted by: http://pil.dk |

When trying to add Ephidrena as 2nd group for Zixaq, I only get an error message saying he is already listed as a member of Ephidrena in the database (...which is not the case). |

Is there a way to prevent such happenings? Like checking how much data one certain IP-address is leeching or so? Anyway, thanx for your work and the friendly assistance of the CSDb-Host! |

I sugested such a solution to them who hosts CSDb, but instead they said that on this server they don't mind.
Another advantage is that because this isn't a comercial server I have more access (ssh) so I can do more myself.
But sure. Some kind of limitation of number of pages requested / minute pr. ip would be nice. Anyone out there with a sugestion?
