A wonderful tune
One of David Whittakers finest tunes is song 1 in the sid "Loopz" from 1991. I wish more sidcomposers out there could make that kind of music. Brings out the best of the sidchip.
Not so advanced sounds, but fucking perfect to the melody. Not so hysterical like modern composer make.

I'm glad you can fuck perfect to the melody. I prefer R. Kelly for that. Or "The Velvet Rope" by Janet Jackson. Some good fucking tunes on there. |

Hm, to me Whittaker's late 64 tunes are all rubbish. afaik he went Amiga, so I guess he concentrated on that machine and just made quick conversion jobs on the 64, e.g. Exterminator (straight from the arcade?) or Beverly Hills Cop (what a lame 'Axel F fail... and that in 1989).
His best times were 86/87: Defcom, Cosmonut, Slaine, Red Max, Enduro Racer (esp. in-game tune) and, as mentioned, The Armageddon Man and Panther. Just brilliant tunes to listen in endless loops.
edit: just listening to Loopz (!), surely one of his better ones of the "new" tunes |
