Big Prizes at Primary Star 2004
Hi All,
I want to ask you all something.
I am willing to donate a big prize for the demo compo.
Say like a SX64/c64GS/SFX module with full size keyboard,
or something else like 50 euro, doesn't really matter.
What i want to know is, will these prizes bring more and better quality productions!! Because if i contribute one of these there must be at least 3 to 5 good demos!
Maybe also for the other compo's, don't know yet.
So give me your reactions to this question.
So will people go active again?

Personally I feel that it's the competition itself that gives the motivation. Nobody does c64 demos for money and prizes. There are more lucrative hobbies. But, still.. it's a nice gesture, and I'm sure it'd be appreciated by the winner. But don't count on the amount of good compo entries increasing because of it.
I just hope other countries will experience what is happening in Sweden right now. Fairlight, Booze Design, Triad and of course WD are as productive as ever, and I'm sure we motivate each other. Sure enough to name our demo Motivation. ;) |

Getting stuff like the Miami Connection DVD and toy laser pistols is what keeps me coding. |

If they are really going to have a stripper at X I think I'll spend my money on going to a good party instead, like LCP 2004, or Floppy 2005. |

And what if it's a male stripper?
You haven't lived until you've seen CBA taking his clothes off. Yeah baby! |

Do you guys know some other ways to motivate the scene?
I'll do my best already, visiting all parties i can go.
Doing my best at painting as much as possible, and getting motivation. Blackdroid's piccy from the floppy has this motivation. It will be hard to beat anywhere.
Multicolor rules!
Come on guys, lets put our shoulders underneed and show what you've got. Espacially the old dutch ones.
See at breakpoint.

I think the biggest hurdle for primary star is the date, atleast to get attention from scandinavia, with LCP and Assembly getting most of the spotlight. Dutch sceners needs a kick in the arse I suppose ;)
Breakpoint is another matter, see you all there, WD will represent :) |

hehe, I've actually watched the beginning of that movie, and it rocks! At least in a cult-b-movie kinda way. The acting is really kindergarten, and the directing a woked zombie could do just as good.
That movie is planned to be shown at the WD Expo 2004, which gives a hint on how much we appreciate that prize.
A big thanks to the responsible Floppy organizer. ;) |
