C64 Graphixians in real world

There was a topic about C64 composers and their real life, but what about the graphicians?
I'm really curious what C=64 graphicians do now!
And sorry if this was already mentioned before here on the CSDB forum.

So to start the discusion I was doing graphics (DTP and some illustrations mostly on MAc ;) ) from 1998-2003 from 2004 I'm more into IT World actin' now as IT architect - it's not sexy, and not related to graphics at all, belive me ;) - far from it!

I know what DeeKay does (Hi Daniel) but I'm really curious what legends as Hein, Mirage, Leon, Valsary( I know a bit here), Cruise, Joe, Duce, Deev,Ptoing, Pernod, Dragon do in real live... (OH and there are more of you guys ;) sorry if I messed any of you pixelers here

So ?

Hey FFFUU
I'm terribly sorry i missed you in my "pixel legend's hall of fame" ;)
After seeing your profile here on CSDB and some of Your pictures I have to say You're good enough to be on this list too :D

few more words about my career... After study (IT Systems ;) I started my carrier as a graphician in DTP company where I did some DTP and Illustrations after few years I also started to do some Web development with buggy PHP codes to end up later in J2EE/Hibernate/Spring world.
I Have to agree with FFFUU that PHP stuff was something I wanted to forget after the project go live. With Java/JEE things it was a bit better but still I had to deal with my and others shitty codes. When I look back I have to say that DTP and prepress was something where everything was supposed to be "perfect" from the beginning. Otherwise it won't work on the print anyway.
So working as a IT Architect now I have to say that I have the privileged position. I don't have to deal with shitty code (PHP nor JAVA) but I can say other people how they should prepare the projects from the beginning so they can work on them in future, add new features, thing on everything upfront, be creative, be innovative. So in other words I can be a smartass now and say to other how I did it in my DTP times ;)

Greetings to all Pixelers on CSDB!

I work at an academic book publisher doing editor work, web maintenance and book covers. I am bored out of my head atm, and I have been dabbling with the thought of doing game graphics for the DS and the likes. However, there are few firms operating doing that in Oslo so I really don't know where to start. (Yes, you can consider that a job application. :))

A few years back (2002 or 03) Me and Brush/Elysium were thinking of some DS games. We even started some tools to help us with the work process I rememder we started some gfx tools in python/gtk under linux... it was supposed to be kind of hobby project out of our daily duties.

but I have to say again: that IT Architect job is kool but can be boring. that's whay I'm back here on the scene.

Justice is served, all is forgotten! But you should be more careful next time!

:)

Leon probably won't show up on the thread, but I know he's working in a chemical factory. Probably as a test subject, that would explain a lot :)

You should be even more ashamed about not having Sander in that list.

Also, "think on everything upfront"? Really? Big Upfront Design is so 1990's ;) Agile is the way to go!

I'm not one of the "greats", but feel I'm on my way...

I'm a repairman at heart. My quote used to be "if it has circuitry in it, I can fix it", which still holds true. There hasn't been much call for someone with my knowledge of repair skills over the last 10 years. Seems these days everything is made to throw away, cheaper to buy new than to get it fixed.

So over the last 10 years or so, I've snaked my way into the IT field. Networking, Wireless, data recovery, Migrations, building, repairs, troubleshooting, etc. I find it pretty boring and would rather be repairing something ;)

The last 2 years, I've taken an interest in wood working. It's one of my many hobbies that I enjoy doing, when I can. I've made 9 carvings in the last 2 years and currently working on one for a business.

Over the last 6 months, I've been involved with home repairs. Handyman specials, so to speak. The house I'm living in now is just that. A 2 story home that needs a lot of plumbing, electrical and cabling work. Drywalling, flooring as well as insulating.

I've been considering auto repair, you know, grease-monkey stuff. It would put me back into repairs, which I loved doing since 1982.

I was a graphics guy for the US group Venom. I was only 13 at the time and it shows in my work. I'm always tempted to do some c64 pixeling so I can say I at least made something decent on the machine.

In the "real world", I'm a painter.

C64 was really the first artistic outlet that got me excited. Even though it may not show in my current work, the Commodore remains a big influence. I love coming here and checking out how far some of you guys push the machine.
