C64 Coders needed for RPG
Greetings Programmers!
We have been working on a game similar to Wasteland, Bard's Tale III, and Dragon Wars for a year now. We have been developing the story, scenarios, location maps etc and were about to begin programming when our lead programmer became ill and incapacitated.
We need a couple of people who can program assembly code for:
1) engine
2) creation tools: map, item, monster editors
3) Graphic artists
Feel free to email us here: 8bwinfo at gmail dot com
Thank you in advance!
-Seth

wouldnt it make a lot more sense to make an editor for the engine that you already have? (you have the sourcecode to bards tale 3 ?) |

Becky is sending me the bt3 & DW source codes, that's why I'm trying to find people interested in creating a pc based editor for the engine. I'm favoring bt3 for the purpose of our project, but dw is still an option. (if possible) :) |

Quote: Would anyone be able to take the bt3 and/or dragon wars source code and create an editor for the pc?
If that is what you want, why don't you use the Bard's Tale Construction Set??? |

Because there is no btcs for c64, it has to be playable on a standard c64. I have talked to many people who think there is a way to make tools for pc that can save data to a d64 disk image file. :) |

ofcourse there is a way to do that. do detailed specifications of the data formats used come with that sourcecode? |

If they don't, I can ask her to explain each section I'm sure. |

Do you think we could use the BTCS on pc to build the game, then figure out a way to write simple conversion scripts to get the data in the correct C64 formats? |

Whoever might even be remotely interested in developing for or with you will likely get repelled by the questions asked here...

Update: Rebecca Heineman is now officially 100% on board to make this game possible. She will provide the source code for the game for the c64 version as well as build a new engine for the PC version to be released by her company Olde Sküül~!
We still need help building tools that will allow us to work on the game via pc, then port the data to the c64. Any takers?
Thank you again! |

Hi everyone,
The game has evolved quite a bit: tile/graphics/map editor done (scripting yet to be added) and a 3d ray casting program is almost complete!
Just thought I 'd let you see some of our progress for the game here: https://www.facebook.com/LawlessLegends
If you have any interest in helping out with coding or graphics please contact us~!
Thank you again! |
