Comaland vs Comaland 100%
I still don't get it.
Why does there have to be 2 entries in the top-10 list of Top Demos for Comaland?
Please, why cannot CSDB staff just merge these two entries into one entry?
I still don't get it.

There's nothing strange, Comaland is the party version, voted on csdb by users the day after the release, Comaland 100% is the fixed/final version released 8 months later and people voted for it too. They are 2 separate entities. It's how CSDb works, new version, new entry. |

A site dedicated to gathering as much information as possible about the productions ... |

Indeed annoying to have two different versions of the same production on the top 10. Ideally they should be merged somehow, just like sceners with different handles. Or to avoid more of this chart spamming in the future, maybe people should just wait until prods are finished before releasing them. :) |

or you could just take those silly charts a bit less seriously :) |

Or remove all this vote drama once for all. |

Usually I don't care about charts, but now that I'm in a demo that's temporarily on the top 10, I must admit that I enjoy it while it lasts. :) |

I agree that it´s totally stupid to occupy 2 of the valuable top10 spots for 2 99% identical demos. |

This brings up a new Top 10 list idea. A top 10 list of demo groups with unique demo entries per group. Only the single top voted demo for per group will show up in that list. That would be interesting to compare how products are evalutad compared to groups.
In other words we would have a different top 10 list for demo groups partly eliminating some name votings. :) |

isn't this problem very easy to solve? i'd say: one csdb entry for each demo + a (new) possibility to add versions of it. so the older version doesn't get lost.
other than that i agree, that its crap to have two versions of comaland in the top10.
and unlike others, i do ofcoz use rankings and lists to find nice productions when i want to watch demos (not just the top10, but i do browse the charts...)
regarding the old voting-discussion which pops up every now and then: for me its good as is... its very imperfect and not fair.
but tbh that has been part of the scene forever. namevoting, socializing blabla whatever has also been part of compovoting for ages. results often don't look fair. we gotta live with the imperfection.
in the szene we try to compare things which are not comparable. who's the better artist... van gogh or picasso? plz tell me...
right, depends on personal taste.
still it's part of the szene to compete.
if you dont like the ratings as they are: vote yourself - because the more votes an entry has, the more proper and fair is the result.
simple as that.
or: just don't look at it or ignore it. |
