8580 overdrive not emulated

Hello

Not sure if anyone is still working on SID emulation, however I think there's one bit missing from both Dag Lem's (which I love) and resid-fp

http://ehion.com/~booker/booker.c64scene.pl/8580overdrive.html

Tune (with source .sng) is here Intro 57

Time: 6th second.

I agree it's the right time to update emulation with this little feat ;)

Is there technical info on that phenomenon?

Hi Krill. Not much that I would know. But when checking back in 2011 on couple of C64s, Hardsid Quattro and HardSid Uno all these would reproduce it.

I haven't come across any technical sheet on this :( Just figured it out empirically. 8580 starts to distort at low coarse cutoff (like $01), together with highest filter resonance and 'strong' pulses. Simply speaking - cannot handle lowest subs very well :D

As usual, the best way is to open a ticket, and try to describe the problem as precise as possible, and provide a simple way to reproduce it (a tune usually is not).

It's not a problem, it's potential feature! :D

As soon as someone opens a thread on csdb it turns into a problem quickly =P

Thx. What is the place to put the ticket on?

Thanks Greopaz. Any idea if Dag Lem is reachable?
