Wow, finally the brand ends up with someone who has an actual track record of not being a complete clown. Hopefully this will result in good things! |

Do I understand right that since Jens only has a license, Polabe (the owner) could in theory license the rights also to some clowns as well. But here's hoping they don't and let Jens do his thing. |

TBH The Commodore brand means nothing anymore these days. It has been screwed over by so many people in the past, and even now, it's nothing exclusive, from the looks of it. It's a nice touch, but it doesn't add anything of significance. YMHO. |

I think you're wrong. When assclowns put the brand on Web.ITs and phones and whatnot, sure, it only served to dilute it. But all the brand got them was a few press releases, then they flopped and were quickly forgotten by pretty much everyone. Producing actual, genuine C64s with the logo on it is a different thing. Don't get me wrong, it's still very much a niche product, but I think Jens has a shot at selling to a wider audience than the usual hardcore C64 fans. I hope he gets all the production bottle necks sorted out so we don't get another Reloaded situation... In any case it's great news for us here.
As I'm thinking about it, now would be a very good time to produce a converter box that takes IEC, S-Video and joystick cables in one end, and HDMI, SD-cards, and USB controllers in the other - everything you need to connect a C64 to a modern setup. I wonder if you could make that for < 100... |

hardly, the HDMI license alone would be expensive^3 |
