Bob Yannes doesnt give a shit
read this:
http://stud1.tuwien.ac.at/~e9426444/yannes.html
...
now lets read between the lines :
Are you aware of the existence of programs like SIDPLAY, PlaySID,... which emulate the SID chip up to the smallest click ?
I only recently became aware of them (through your website).
Did you believe this was possible to do with your chip?
Since I haven't heard them I'm not sure what we are talking about, however
So, he doesnt even gave a shit to listen to 1 or 2 tunes... sad. |

That interview was done nearly 10 years ago, so I think it'd be much more accurate to say "Bob Yannes didn't give a shit 10 years ago". Who knows now? Maybe someone should track him down again. |

Dude, the guy never even heard of some of the greatest sid composers, so chances are that in general he just isn't interested in how 'his' chip was used, be it on the c64 or in an emulator or something similair. |

Bearing in mind how complicated and amazing the SID could have been if Commodore had spent more on it, and bearing in mind how they messed up the 8580, I'm not surprised Bob (who had left Commodore by that time for Ensoniq) didn't have much to say on the subject... |

Given that this is 10 years old, I figure that things may have changed... Still, it seems that even at that time, he was quite proud of his creation...

Hmm, I find hard to imagine how it could have been better :)
