New Super Snapshots, with ethernet, are currently in development. Prototypes are existing - ask someone here for the link (Magervalp?). Or is it the crt-image you were looking for? |

Discussion and pics of the prototype can be found at http://retrohackers.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=301
ROM images aren't too hard to find.

I am new to this PC version of the 64 scene. Is someone building a new form of Super Snapshot? What is an ethernet? |

Yes, as far as I have understood it, dW is building a Super Snapshot-clone with a micro-SD card and an ethernet-adaptor. This will allow you to use a Super Snapshot (or possibly also an Action Replay) with the same features as an MMC64 and a RR-Net.
Search the forum for some more information about the last two devices. |

@TheShadow: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet
In short, you can hook up your C64 onto a computer network (your home network, Internet)
Nothing new because you can also do that with RetroReplay+RR-net card.
It's a blessing when you want to transfer a lot of disks.

Seems very promising, want at least one of those,too but AR-Rom has to be usable, otherwise it is kind of useless to me.

dW is trying to fit AR6 compatibility in the hw, but there are no promises. However, you get reconfigurable F-keys (so make them like AR6 if you want), a fastloader, and a monitor that matches (and even supercedes) AR6 features. You'll also get UDPslave, WarpCopy, and built in Turbo Assembler. Last but not least you'll be able to load stuff from micro-SD. I don't see how anyone can complain :)

"useless" was not the correct word I guess, as it is a pretty neat device, I will for sure get one, but as I already have rr+rrnet and am an AR user for ages now it is not as usefull as it could be, just in my case though.
1000 thumbs up for this cool thingie, I didn't want to rag it down, sorry if it sounded like that.
