Our Style 5 by Starion
Greetings to everyone, new and old...
Does anyone out there have the last Starion demo, Our Style 5? It seems to be nowhere on the net. I have two copies, the floppy and the D64 archive of the floppy, but the last two parts won't load. :(
Some collector of old C64 demos contacted Microtop of Starion searching for this demo, which I think was released at The Party 1993 or 94... If this person is reading the forum, I want you to know that at least the first 4 parts of the demo have been rescued. We are going to collect and search through old floppies of ex Starion members soon in hope to find another copy without disk errors. But it would be nice if someone had it.

And by all means add the release and the not working demo.
Atleast we get to see 4 parts of starion that most of us have never seen. Thats awesome enough :)
So please add the release on the database with or without a proper file. |

I will upload it with the non-working parts if we don't find a fully working version. If anyone remembers when it was released, please speak up. I was pretty sure that it was at The Party II but that makes no sense if Tågekammeret was released there. I remember being at a party and showing this demo to a crowd, I specifically remember an ugly sideborder bug only visible on the projector and not on our TVs and monitors. I also think we released Star-Text 2.0 at the same party, since the scroll text in OS5 mentions testing the new text editor. The old text editor was very popular and many people got copies of version 2 that day, someone must remember this... |

I remember using Star-Text 2.0 in the eighties (sometimes just to listen to the music), which makes it older than 1993/4, so something's amiss there.
And there's no "Our Style" in my collection, sorry.

Star-Text V2.0 has 1989 as release year here. |

Im not the right to ask about demos, but if Startext were released in 1989. Couldnt it be at the Upfront party the demo was released? |

Wow..
Out of the 16.4 GB of c64 files (demos, games, utilities, etc) I have, I don't have that particular demo. I have 1-4, but oddly not 5..
Go figure.. 138,807 files and not that demo.. And to think, I thought I had "almost" everything... Sigh
The search begins.... .. .

just check the wanteddemolist on the digital dungeon..there are way more missing demos than 'our style 5', and i'm sure that my archive is even bigger than 16gb and still there are so many demos missing. therefore i hope people will get all their disks transfered, you never know which rare releases could be on them. |

It seems that someone found the demo in working condition: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=86272. My own disk has 2 parts not working (the Saddamski part and the big screen expansion scroll). Really great to see them again. |

Well yeah I found it but of course the file name was not Our Style 5.
This really makes it of course difficult to find missing demos :-)
As always, do upload stuff that's broken, that way we at least know what to look for.
