actually i'm doing pa/light/video rental myself, so i pretty much ask myself why there's 2000€ for that second stage.. for that money we'd pretty much set up a discostage for about 2000ppl and not just some small pa and some par56 lights hanging from that minitent.. or did i miss something?

bp IS a big party, yet i'm not quite sure if it's not all too much money calculated there..

talking about sponsors.. even we have some small (local) sponsors who have some slides going on on our parties, so i pretty much doubt it may be THAT much of a problem to find some more sponsors.. i mean everybody's talking about booze, so why not get some vodka/bear/etc brand? or some other big hardware manufacturer like dell/asus and such? maybe even bahlsen oder curry king just to name a few.. i mean if you're facing all that matter 24/3 you might be getting some at the local food supply....

actully after just some 5 days everything really important is beeing payed already, so what the fuck? actually some money should be spent on the streaming rather on seminars that only few are attending..

'nuff said..

dano: its not that easy... there is a beamer on the second "stage", pa etc ofcourse, relativly expensive equipment for the video (repeaters etc). insurance is another notable thing... you are right, pa and decks are NOT the problem :)

and oh well, the numbers there are ofcourse rough estimates only, and a lot of small things are merged with the bigger stuff. eg the 2k for decoration includes lots of stuff that wasnt actually used for decoration (we spent quite a bunch on gaffa tape alone =P) ... the "network" budget also includes stuff like the power-outlets on the tables (and everything connected to it) etc etc. dont take those numbers too serious :)

I have to say that this is starting to look like the end of The Party, the way it ended.

Not too big, but the way its done.

Back to basics people:

sleep area
possiblity to get food/drink
power
screen
sound

You dont need any more, to make it what it SHOULD be,
a SOCIAL EVENT.

All the rest is pop shit and costs all the money.

It dont make any difference if its just like the X, the amount of people does not matter!

If just people have power and there is a toilet, and some compos, the SOCIAL part of it, will make sure its a good party.

And the more people attend, the easier to pay the rent for the place.

So my advice: cut all the luxury!

You can get the luxury back, when this shitty worldwide financial crisis is over.

And somewhere i read BP does NOT ever have had sleeping area ?

You dont dare to call this the largest most best organized party with most things, and then not have sleeping area.

This is the same fucking mistake as The Party 1995 having rave techno party in the sleeping area!

Learn from the past, or die!

Besides Sphinx/DG I am now the oldest scener, and the oldest ACTIVE scener, i am goddam 40! :)

And you are all getting old, and have bad knees, and backs, and beer bellies and so on, we are getting fucking old my man!

So we fucking need a bed like on X!!!! :-)

I am not a sisies, and not many are, but I want to do this also when i am 88, and then we fucking need a bed! :)

To get back to topic:

BP has to cut the costs, and carry on the party, with the basic things only, then it can survice the crisis.

And i already told what to cut.

So just do it.

@Rambonez... you could combine breakpoint with a camping convention and food and drink and disco/av convention to get free shiznitz!!

and pr0n convention too...( for free man milking while watching demos from Crest/Booze/FLT/Xenon/Plush.......)
