Voting for Sids
Howdy,
would it be much hassle to implement an option to vote for sidfiles? Shouldn´t be too hard I guess :) |

Quoting ramknochenInstead to make a plan, and construct a website, Stainless used his time to do a sidplay frontend..... Guilty as charged. Though in my defense, it started out as a means
of gathering all available data from the hvsc into a database form for the web project.
Once i had the routines for gathering all the information (SIDID, STIL and some other things)
i figured it would be cool if there was a player that utilizes these informations.
Anyho, the code for it is still here and integrating the HVSC
into the web project was always part of my plan. So that work has been taken care of already.
What have you guys to show for ?
I'm preferring ASP.NET and C# (it's my daytime job
so i wont bother with any other languages) for the backend stuff so Linus could take care of the html/css stuff and i can blend it (no php please!).

No PHP or Perl? In that case you gotta do the backend stuff indeed :) Provide me with the data and I´ll have a go. |

Alright. I've fired up VS10 and am staring at a blank web project. What's this baby gonna be called?
I'd like to use some AJAX and Silverlight gadgets (oh woe is me!!) and do some LINQ stuff. After all, it's also a code exercise:-D |

I've set up my dev gear and a copy of Cuyahoga. It's an open source .NET based website framework. I've got it running in VS10 and on IIS 7 and SQLEXPRESS.
The idea is to save a lot of work that's taken care of by the website framework and concentrate on the actual design/features.
I'll play around with it a bit and see if linus can work up some preliminary general design.

Stainless, Linus:
I have lots of ideas what content menus it should have,
and what should be possible. This was what i mean when i asked that we make a plan before headlessly starting to code something :)
I will write it up, and send it to you.
In that process I would like Linus email addy.. |

Oh great, the Cuyahoga is just something like i have been searching!
I spent the last few weeks trying 2 CMS systems, Drupal and Joomla - both are php, and i have little xp with it, so i didnt have much success so far.
Just to hear, Joe, do you know other C#/NET CMS things besides this one ? |

Jan: i havent searched any further than this one. Might be some others around. But it seems to fulfill the basic needs.
Sorry Bruce, no there's no php framework that i'm gonna touch :-D |

How about some UML 2.0 in here. Lets throw together some use cases and sequence diagrams. Just kidding :-D would be a nice exercise though.
