Ideas for SID Compos

After the great success of the Crack Intro Music Competition 2013 some musicians are hungry for the next compo. So let's collect some ideas.

How about a compo for CHILL-OUT or LONGPLAY SIDs which you can listen for many minutes without getting on your nerves?

what about a "how-to-not-sound-like-linus-compo"!? chances are high that i'd make it into the top 5 and linus would be last - hihihi. \o/

I like the 'one voice' idea; and the idea from DRAX in the crack intro compo comment about allowing just 'one waveform'.

Limitations forces one to be creative... I like that challenge... Covers don't appeal to me unless... but would be fun to have a tune that you have to arrange for instance Airwolf remix... Where the theme of Airwolf or some other part of it should be recognizable but you can make your own arrangement of it... for instance classical, dubstep, funk, soft-porn arrangement... that would also be fun :D

Hmm! How about a Game Over Competition which Fredrik mentioned earlier? Or a 2 or 3 SID Competition? Would be great!

copy / paste:

i would like to see a "ambient" compo....
or

a demo group would offer part of their demo (intro for example) and the composers will make the sound to it. an old demo could be used for this, if there is any demo group with a nice demo-intro would offer their work for the composers and the competition .. i think you get the idea.

I'd love to see something like the TinySID Compo again.

Tiny Sid C64 Music Competition
Tiny Sid 2 C64 Music Competition

Since I got 4Mat's amazing Empty down to <400 byte, there should be some potential left ;)

I'd love to see what comes out when people start doing remixes of their alltime favourite sid tunes...
