Release id #129317 : VICE 2.4
What's wrong with sound playback? It has serious problems e.g. with filtered, silent sounds. AFAIK real machine doesn't behave like that ;] |

I've updated to 2.4.7 win32 this year - just didn't notice the update earlier, heh ;) It happens.
Funny thing is that I don't have residFP option anymore with its wider choice of models. I can only choose FastSID 6581/8580 and ReSid 6581/8580/8580digiboosted. That's all. Is it the way it's supposed to be? ;)
Besides, I've listened to majority of my tunes on real hardware and there are no quirks like this.
Gpz, if it's needed I'll try to follow a proper bugtrack. Cheers! |

ok so, the whole thread is bogus, because 2.4 isnt 2.4.7 =) yes as said above, resid-fp was removed some time after 2.4.
Hein: get the latest snapshot from http://vice.pokefinder.org - you really want to use that for coding, trust me :)
and yes, if you want anything to change, a proper bug report must be created. there is no other way anything might get fixed eventually. |

Gpz, I've just made an ass of myself :D Dunno where did I get this 2.4.7 win32 build from and why not official stable x64 release. Now additional sidFP models are available and everything sounds normal.
Sorry for the hassle and guys - better check out if you also happen to use this infamous 2.4.7 build ;) |

you might want to try a recent snapshot from pokefinder anyway, and report any problems you find (but please no "it sounds different" or "it sounds wrong" =P) |

If you feel the pokefinder builds are lacking some feature you may PM-rant to me directly - or use the supplied e-mail address - at any time, btw. |

Someone said VICE doesn't support Japanese C64 productions. Something related to the charset. I don't even know if this is true, but thought I should mention it at least, in case nobody happens to be aware of that. |

I wanted to know if anybody else gets this...
I use 2.4 x64, have a snapshot 5 cart as my default.
True drive emulation is off.
The typical scenario is this: I double click the .d64 I want to work with, Vice loads up with the snapshot cart. I wait a few seconds and it will then auto load the first file on disk, which is typically Turbo assembler.
I'll then do a @@ and return, which takes me into the snapshot monitor. I then do a $ to pull a directory up.
I'll cursor up to the file I want to load, normally, this is my "data chunk". Just a bulk save of everything from $0800-$5000..
I'll cursor up to the file, put an L in front of it, cursor past the file name and remove the file extension (prg).
I then hit return and quite often, it kicks me out of the monitor and returns me to a clear, standard commodore screen (with blues).
If I repeat the process, sometimes the file will load, sometimes not. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 attempts to get that file to load.
I don't get the error if I use true drive.
I noticed today that when loading a file in the snapshot monitor, if I hit return while it loads, it will kick me to the basic commodore screen.
I know I can simply use true drive emulation, but shouldn't have to. It's a small bug that annoys me and wasn't sure if y'all knew about it.
EDIT - None of the current memory corrupts when the reset occurs.
More EDIT - I think a Japanese demo would be cool!!!! |

why dont vice 2.4 remember inserted cart ?
since i upgraded from 2.1, various things are always broken, never able to get a fully working version.
2.4 = inserted cart isnt remembered in saved settings - as it was in the past.
