The "writer" type programs

I recalled the writer type programs today at work. You know the ones where you write on the screen, then the program can play it back.

I remember writing one of those back in the day, but didn't really remember much about it other than it used kernal routines, and then you just stored all the keypresses in a buffer, and just played it back.

I was looking at kernal routines etc. for hours, and finally came up with a shitty program 🤣 (you can't save, lol).

I didn't remember that the cursor caused so many headaches back then, but I kind of got it to work, but it is ugly in writing mode.

Haha, I'm wondering how much I coded it the wrong way, or how it can be optimized/done smarter, especially the cursor stuff.

Have a look, if you're interested in this spaghetti code 🤣🤣🤣: https://pastebin.com/xz7SmVSQ

Cheers!

Nice idea from Aleksi!

@Scrap , ScrapMess V5 was probably the most used one. At least I used it a lot! What a cool tool (like all the earlier versions too).

Sooooo - lets make a compo about this? :)

(Scrap obviously would be pre-disqualified! hehe)

TBH: I liked the modular loadable effect on one of the scrapwriters (cant remember versions) back then. Was mediate fun to do some own creations. :)

I did my own little "writer" routine for Good Vibrations diskmag. While music played, the reviewers Me and Wotnau wrote their review about the music, and it was then presented in the magazine along the tunes Good Vibrations #1

As far as my memories go I used Infra Typer a couple of times to create such writer messages back in the days.

Trap must be talking about Advanced Bonzai Note Maker V1.2
Never got to use it myself but looks decent.
