straight from YOUR playlist
if you encounter a piece of sound so great you want to hang yourself for not being able to write something of similar quality...
if you think you've just found the best music ever made...
if you think a certain song/tune/symphony contains some unusually awesome elements...
...and you want to share it with other c64 composers and not necessarily via your facebook wall, just do it here.
explanations, reviews and so on warmly welcome.
one link per day max.
have fun. |

This thread is THE shit :)
Today 2 more mainstream choices, but hey - there is some amazing music even outside of our beloved niches ;)

It's had to neglect how much influence on electronic music those two guys had. And this track for me is one of their best efforts, emotional, hipnotizing...

What an opening for a really great pop/rock album! I used to play the first 5 tracks from that album as a loop. Oh, and when I put together a video from first 3 weeks after my son was born, I put http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fflsUX93BtU as a soundtrack - makes my wife drop a tear every time :) |

Whole album is massive, huge band, funny lyrics, annoying solos and what not. |

Simple, but well done IMHO. Caution: may trigger tears for some listeners.

Can´t find a proper tube link, let´s try it this way:

Track 7 -> (I know) I am losing you
There is a longer (and better imho) version available on vinyl, but this will do for now I guess.
Funky bass, nice wha work and that delay on the voice <3 Pitty this single version ommits all the good solo stuff later on :|

somewhen back in the days, someone said to me 'apparently you do listen to a lot of arabian music'. it wasn't true, however. i was exposed to a lot of arabian music during the early childhood (thanks to my father, who spent a considerable part of his professional life in egypt, algeria and kuwait). only recently i started to explore it again. here's the result.

cheb khaled "trigue lycee"
if i was asked to do a ranking of the best male vocalists ever, arabian singers would occupy top three positions i think. no western voice contains comparable amount of masculinity and sweetness simultaneously ;)
