Covers that you thought were original C64 tunes..

Back in the eighties/early nineties I was a HUGE nerd that never went 'out' or listened to music or whatever the cool kids did (OK, all of the aforementioned still applies, but.. :D)
That meant that pretty much the only music I listened to came from the glorious SID chip. In the years since there has been many occasions where I've heard a tune on the radio/TV/mp3 and gone "WOW! They made a cover of the tune from demo X" and then a second later "Uhmm.. wait a minute.. it was probably the other way around".
Some notable examples:
* Domino Dancing / Pet Shop boys. I thought this was a C64 original up until I heard it on the radio a couple of years ago :D
* The tune from some Success demo, turned out to be a Koto cover
* The superb introtune from Partytrap. It was not until I read the comments here on CSDB that I realized it was a cover.

OK, am I the only one who has experienced this? :D

For me it's somewhat disappointing to find out that some of those classic tunes are "just" cover-versions,
as i always thought that they were original compositions.
Sure, it's another point to make it sound good on a C64 with only 3 channels and other limitations.

Just found out that one of my alltime favourite C64 tunes Ski Dance from Chris Hülsbeck was in the Willy Bogner Movie Fire & Ice from 1986. Here's a video: Fire & Ice - Ski Dance
The original tune is called Panarama - Ski Dance (Edit)
Damn, i need to get this soundtrack NOW!

I think this one misses a 'stil' entry as well:

Before Rock, Metal, Grunge, I liked the Pet Shop Boys. "Two Divided by Zero" is good track.
Once Behaviour was released, I lost all interest in PSB

Who is Trond?
Was he/she/they before or after The Pet Shop Boys?
Where can I hear "Two Divided by Zero" by Trond

I always though the in game music from Delta was the work of Rob Hubbard. That was until I watched the film Koyaanisqatsi ;D

Rob has done an amazing conversion.

You might want to listen to this as well...

It is a good conversion, though I was disappointed when I found out it was pretty much just a couple of covers. I always really liked that tune, it's so different to the music you hear is most games, especially from that era. I loved how the mood changes so much halfway through - I didn't realise that was because he was ripping of 2 seperate pieces of music!
