codebase.c64.org
Hello!
Just wanted to tell you all that the C64 codebase wiki now got a proper URL and can be accessed through:
http://codebase.c64.org/
Enjoy! Greetings to Slaygon for supplying the URL. Now you don't have to remember that old weird URL. ;)
Keep on adding your stuff!

yes, i would also strongly recommend to have (manually verified) accounts, it would be sad to see that site go down in wiki-vandalism |

btw how about advertising the site? lemon64 / c64.sk / pouet / c64.org for example. atleast the bigger c64 crossroads of the web should have a link to it.
as Frantic mentioned. I would like to make sort of "latest additions to codebase" column. Similar to Latest CSDB posts.. etc. Also I will add button to affiliates. This is a very good project. I like the idea.
As for manual account checking. I'm all for. Also zero tolerance to idiotic behaviour would save some time for serous stuff. |

Sure, but that kind of trouble just isn't there yet. I have backups of the site, so.. no worries. The day it happens, well, let's take those troubles at that point in time. |

frantic: thats no good strategy. (having accounts also makes tracking changes in the wiki much easier) |

gpz: I see a huge drawback in making it hard for people to edit the wiki. What exactly is this big danger you see? If someone fucks the wiki, then there is the backups (which are made regularly)... ...including the fact that there is logs and all old revisions of pages are stored and so on.
The day someone start to fuck it up, then there is always the option to make access rights more restricted. Until that day, why make it even one inch less easy to access the functions on the site than necessary? |

the point is that it WILL be fucked up. as soon as its advertised a bit and the link is known to google the spambots will come, wait and see :) |

I agree that it will probably happen... that's not the point at all. Don't worry, as I said.. the day the site get fucked up, it will be restored in a flash and access rights restricted... |

I agree to groepaz, but you can query a (graphical) code when saving a page edit, which is what i just implemented for my own wiki. |

kerm1t.. yeah.. thought about that. Will only stop the spam scripts of course, but still.. kinda middle solution.. at least for a while, or something.
Anyway.. Ppl.. Now go back discussing C64 related matters. All these discussions about websites and so on rather than their contents make me a little sick. :) (I am probably guilty to this aswell..) |

btw, how about hosting important materials, like c= hacking, vic article, AAY64, etc ? they dont take up much space, and it would make a nicer knowledge package. |
