For your scene.org award consideration
As has been mentioned here it is possible on pouet to show the scene.org awards jury what demos from 2007 you think deserve an award, so make sure that atleast all worthy c64 productions get the chance they deserve. |

There is still a chance to vote for the public choice award
Quoting melwyn on pouet
A reminder - you have less than 2 days to vote for your favourite 2007 demo release for the Scene.org Awards public choice! To make this bit more exciting, here's an alphabetic list of current top20 voted demos. All of them have still a chance of being nominated. You know, it's up to you to decide who gets the trophy...

Few stats from the last year: There were altogether ~300 valid votes and by a rule of thumb (the vote distribution being rather wide) it took 15+ votes for a demo to be nominated. It's also common that there's plenty of demos floating close to a nomination. In other words, every vote does indeed count.

And now the nominees in the jury voted categories have been revealed
The nominees for best demo on an oldschool platform are
sharp/flt+instinct
desert dream/resource+chorus
empirion/bauknecht
(core)/wamma+pwp (Atari VCS)
impossiblator 3/pwp (VIC 20)
So another quite good year for the c64 scene. |

Apparently you had to wonder a lot ;)
Anyways, it is now possible again for anyone with an account on pouet to notify the scene.org awards jury about all great productions from the year which the members of the jury might have missed or forgotten. Either through http://www.pouet.net/awardscandidates.php or directly on the page of the demo |

Edge of disgrace will be a very strong candidate to grab the 'best oldschool' award. |

The category is actually called "best demo on an oldschool platform". I think we can at least agree that the C64 as a platform is rather old... ;) |

C64 never grows old, unlike PC hardware. |

Our demo is nominated in six categories, but I would gladly give up the prize in a couple of them to Edge of Disgrace. It is indeed a disgrace that Edge of Disgrace is not nominated in "best demo" I think. But then again, these are the _PC_scene.org awards. :( |

But I can only agree :( |

Can't speak in the name of the others, but the public choice nomination alone means much more to me than a possible win in any other category. So, don't you worry :)
What really surprised me was the omission of Pearls for Pigs. Utter shame, really.
Angry Post Scriptum: and whoever set the expiration of cookies for such a short period and made me write down this post two times should kiss my shiny metal ass. Yes, I'm looking at you, Perff :) |

And the nominees are out http://awards.scene.org/nominees.php
Andropolis and Still Ready made it into the "Best demo on an oldschool platform" category, no surprise there.
It's fun to see that the cpc demo From Scratch/Vanity made it into the public choice category, and the amiga demo Jesus Christ Motocross/Nature & Traktor appearing in almost all categories. |

Sorry for being a bit offtopic here, but if you do watch a pc demo from time to time ;) check "Rupture" by ASD. It's absolutely fantastic :D |
