File Extensions: New Frontiers

Since the last few years, cracking groups have been including walkthroughs and game maps in certain releases.
An extension for this has as of yet not been standardized.
We should all have a consensus on what such an extension should be.
Using +M interferes with and confuses the original +M for trainer modifications.

A few proposals are +(?):

* for map

^ for direction (map)

W for walkthrough

The possibilities are many. The scene needs an extension that everyone is comfortable with...

Try to stay away from special characters. (e.g. * is not feasible) and keep it simple, as the current rules already confuse most.

Cmon - +15GMCW+Docs and the line below with "^^ new sprites! ^^" is not what you want?

PS: Rules - laughter...

So by the responses so far, it makes most sense then to use W for walkthrough ;)

Count Zero: Certainly. For specific releases. Some releases have all the features added and deserve mention. Examples:

Operation Wolf (USA) +6DFHR

Psycho Soldier +7DFIR

Black Gold +9DFIR

and

Jim Slim +8FHP
