Demos featuring 2x2-FLI mode (160x100x16)
I could have sworn these things exist, but couldn't find one.
Obvious candidate was Real (as Ninja and Oswald are the prominent inventors/users of that mode in my book), but alas, seems to be 80x100, without interlace.
Still i'm sure that mode and demos using it exist. |

I clicked through a few demos i thought that had this mode (eg the Glance demos) - but its all "80x100", ie with every other pixel masked black. *shrug* |

First 2x2x16? Movie World from Dragon Software I'd say. Inventor: Fenek (Not full size, though, but still...) |

Not so much interested in firsts in general, and in this case, would like to see the latest most-refined best examples (and as big as possible). |

Probably not "most refined" but Black Spark 100% also has a 2x2 part. |

yep, our 2x2 in "Real" was inspired by "Movie World", thanks Ninja :) I have also used the "mode" in Larch, but codewise same as in Real I guess.
edit: ok reading my comment on Movie World, Larch must have come first, that is maybe full fli. |

Thanks! I'm specifically looking for 2x2 FLI (160x100x16), not 4x2 FLI (80x100x16), though.
So interlace is pretty much implied. :) |

there also was a crest demo using this, not 2x2 though 2x1, but every 2nd pixel black interlaced for free coloring.
iirc here Don't meet Crest |

I think this "Asslace" fakes hires pixels, i.e. the black wide pixels are not in complete alignment with the mc pixels which they overlay but rather xshifted 1 pixel. This all in a checkerboard pattern ofcourse...
But good question raised, Krill! Movie World was the very first demo that came to mind, but the effects only take place in a somewhat reduced square, not using the full 160x100 resolution.
Will be interesting to read further proposals :) |
