It's not *actually* the editor Rob used, it's his player routine that someone has built an editor around... |

Yes. Some people known as Greeny & Huddy, took one of Rob's tunes and made a music editor out of it, so people could play music using Rob's own instruments. I have used the program before, and believe me, it is -more- difficult than you think. It is all numbers, according to the voices, and numbers for the octaves/notes. |

newschool punks.. hex a5 would equal #c-5 or something like that, you just need to think a little more when you create your bars. it's superbad style! |

Hmm... When people ask me, I usually recommend the JCH editor or SDI/Shape. SDI is a bit more difficult to get started with though.I use my own (now old... 1995/1996) editor. It has some bugs and I didn't code a packer until about a month ago or so... Working on a whole new system as I luckily have gotten quite better at coding during the years, and now know more about what features I need in an editor. This editor is to me more userfriendly and though still advanced.The editing is not just numbers as in most editors. A lot og things are done so they should be easy to understand in the editor itself. I try to keep the rastertime of the player at an acceptable level. But it's my plan is to do a standard version of that player too. Sofar I have redone a lot of the things in the editor as I want it to be as perfect as I can make it. The editor will be released under my Viruz label and is a tribute to the still rocking c64-scene. :-) |

@Stryker:
Well, I dunno when it will be released in Australia... Perhaps a kangaroo will deliver it at your place some day.
:-)
But I feel good about being damn active again, if people complain about waiting for my editor, I can only take it as they must be very curious to see what it will be like.
I just don't want to release anything with as low quality as my old editor. So whenever I come up with new ideas during the coding+designing progress, I take some time to think it through and do the modifications if I think it's needed :-)
But for people who really can't wait I might show you the instrument editor somewhat soon. Just still got quite a lot of music to do the next month or so. |
