hey everyone

i got a question for you demo records historians. is the graham's 256 dots per everyframe part the world record for 3axis rotation of so many dots/frame effect. or is there another demo? if yes which? and how many dots?

thanx a whole bunch

The dot part in +H2k by Plush broke that record, but don't know the amount (around 300 ?)...

If i'm not totally out of my mind, Graham made 246 plots, and Krill made 256. Now hang on, and i'll release 257 ;).

But be careful when (re)writing history like this. These plotters are not true ora-plotters, which means that if 2 or more plots appear very close to eachother they may be displayed incorrectly. The same difference as between a DYCP and a ORA-DYCP, but not quite that visible.

Personally i don't like the idea of *collecting records* since different routines are not always comparable, eventhough they look like they can be. You have to be very pragmatic in order to do a good job in that area.

yep my mistake. graham's is 246 dots. i can't watch krill's at the moment. i knew graham's wasn't an ORA plotter it was brought up somewhere here before.

is krill's not an ora plotter as well?

if i left out the scroller and the rasterbars i would have had 256 plots too :)

@nightlord: Krill's is also not an ora-plotter.

@Graham: Yes, but it's still 63 cycles per plot and Krill's only needs 58, but the code has to be doubled -> not in a demo like oneder..

I can do a 64,000 dots plotter without any problem.

I rule.

It doesnt count if all 64.000 dots are on each other, or if they are not moving :p

But they each have a unique position, and they all move! They do!

someone code that plotter with perspective, please, i don't mind less dots (if it's at least 128 or so) ;)

Hey, I've done around 400 realtime ORA dots.
.
.
.
But it's not a one-framer. Am I still in for a record? :PPP

@Cybernator: I guess Fuben/OXY already did that (short after Graham), and he doesn't count, does he!? ;)

Hmm, seems like we spoiled the topic with bullshit.. again. And i guess i'm part of it :/. Nah, bullshit is fun ;)

Just for the record, I want to state that I've been serious all along.

HCL: i know that krills routine is faster, but i cannot waste so much memory on the plot routine since there is half of a demo still in memory too.
