Good question, I also have another: I've decided that the MW4 engine is pure excrement, because it's so slow & lame, so I'm asking if someone could kindly write me an AGSP (alldirectional) scroller engine *without* AGSP bug and without the sprite pointers becoming visible. It should also multiplex about 64 sprites but still leave 300 rasterlines free for the AI. Oh and it should also be possible to play while IRQ-loading (on any possible C64 diskdrive/harddisk, or IDE64)

Yeh, you know I just started learning Basic and I would like to learn assembler too. As soon as I know how to code in assembler, I will gladly help you with your project. Gosh, I always wanted to code my own Turrican 4 and your game looks similar! Let's see if we find someone else who would like to work with us. BTW, what is a sprite?

Sprites are stuff that can move randomly. That's the definition.

A sprite is something like a charset, only bigger.

Morgor: Will your idea of T4 have MMORPG-capability (using TFE) and persistent world (kept on C64 server hardware)? If yes then we're definitely thinking the same thought and should work together!

> A small or elusive supernatural being; an elf or pixie.
Yeah, it's made of many pixels. You can not eat them, hence they're supernatural.

> An elflike person.
Like Giana sisters. So Giana and Maria are sprites too. Proof!

> A specter or ghost.
Same in Seal of Focalor, the ghosts are sprites. Interlacing them makes them even more infathomable.

> Meteorology. A large, dim, red flash that appears above
> active thunderstorms in conjunction with lightning.
Which, according to the huge colour density CANNOT be made without FLI!

Glad we agree on that topic. ;-)

It's interesting:
When I started this thread, I did it in order to make fun of those people who give the typical arrogant replies to innocent newbies who want to create something on the C64. While those newbies often underestimate how difficult their plans are, and at the same time do not really seem to investigate available resources beforehand, I am convinced they deserve more than the typical "Read The Fucking Programmers' Reference Guide".

Now, the thread appears to be more of a nonsense thing, making fun of the newbies, if anything... ;-)

Nah, we don't make fun of newbies, at least not in here. It's pure craptalking, so much fun at times...! ;-)
