Xider beta testers

I'm looking for a few developers to beta test Xider.

Xider is a Cross development Integradted Development Environment. The editor is currently based on Turbo Macro Assembler. The assebmler assembler ASCII files. You can use tmpview to convert a TMP file into an ASCII file.

The IDE connects up with a special VICE and allows you to set breakpoints and do source level debugging.

Please email me if you are interested in helping out.

Thanks

As soon as it supports KickAssembler, I'd be happy to use/test it.

Xider will allow you to use any assembler. But until I write parsers for various assembler listings, you won't be able to do source level debugging. You can enjoy other cool features of Xider, as in it will automatically upload your assembly and data into Vice, and get a nice memory window etc.

But right now I am looking for people to beta test the full suite.

Chris - I'm willing to help out and I'm betting Fuzz would like to also. I'm still using TurboAss V3, but TMP isn't much of a change likely.

I'll point this thread out to Fuzz.

"automatically upload your assembly and data into your REAL C64".

FIXED.

When I cross assemble I always compile and run on my real C64 through codenet using my 1541U.
If I can't do that then I'm not interested.

Its funny how typing "FIXED" doesn't actually do anything.
My goal, when I set out to do this was source level debugging. This requires a hardware modification (via some sort of freeze mechanism) to perform this one a real 64. I don't really do hardware. If someone wants to step up and work with me to build something like this great, we can do it for a future release.

Windows only I assume? Too bad.

Yes v.1 will be Windows only. But I used wxwidgets, so it should be easy to port. As soon as someone steps forward to port the code to whatever other platform. Right now though, my primary goal is to get v.1 finished and working and out in the wild.

will it be freeware?

Is anyone selling c64 related software?
I've had a total of 3 people donate money to me for my efforts on DirMaster. I expect a MUCH smaller audience for Xider (in fact my main audience for this program is ME!)
Anyways I'll throw the typical accepts paypal donations in the about box, but I won't be holding my breath.

Now that I may have gotten peoples expectations up, I won't be doing a lot of work on this over the summer (got to go outside and play) but I am hoping for a fall release date. Perhaps for ECCC.

Hey man....You know I'll be happy to test Xider. I found out I need a hard drive for my laptop. Until then, it's hard to compose music for the group. Sorry man. I'm stuck without a job. :(
