Group id #4664 : Lamers With Conversiontools
A new group is born: Lamers With Conversiontools
Got no clue what the scene is all about?
You're a spaghetti-coder in basic?
You convert graphics and release them under your own name?
No real C64 at home but only WinVice on your hyperthreaded multimedia Intel Inside (tm) dad's PC?
No problem! Everybody can be a scener in Lamers With Conversiontools
Weeehee!
A membership is just a PM away! |

@HMVDVA : "Lamers With Conversiontools"
I'm still wondering what is the real meaning of lamer. I guess it's a pejorative word to keep the elite selfconfident in his glory past behaviour or may be its more complex but I'm not really interested in going further as it seems to me highly childish. Childish like posting ironics topics or creating fake group like you did and please dont tell me that he deserves it because he produces shit. HMVDVA you're really a courageous guy bashing a new comer, I'm sure I have a lot to learn from your wisdom. |

My opinion on the Commodore 64 group history:
1980s - Cracking/Import groups
1990s - Cool/Creative/Demo groups
2000s - Fake/Cheat/Lazy groups
I wonder what comes next in the 2010s. |

The scene is always represented at parties with cool demo's.
Just look at the releases at X2006.
IMO, the (for some negative) activity over here does not show what's really going on.
Can't wait for the releases from next week's OXY Party, Breakpoint, Primary Star and maybe BFP.
Declaring the scene dead is so 1994 (and so Oswald).

Anyway. Forever 8, 16-18.march.2oo7. It seems that I'm not going to make a demo for it (again) but how about someone else? ;-) |

missing the smiley which indicates j/k is so scout.
making demos is also so out of fashion, but the scene will live even without demos I bet. bitching over the dead corpse will never go out of fashion. |

I was referring to these newish groups from 2007, such as Lamers With Conversiontools, CRapt, and people like the Wanking Rabbit. I don't mean groups before these fake ones. You lot are cool! Please don't hate me for what I said :'( (it was about 1-2am when I wrote that previous post anyway, so i wasn't switched on.)

@Randall & Jackasser: Sorry. :'( What was I thinking ?!?!?! I'm taking advantage of these really cool groups of yours, that isn't me at all!!!
I SHOULD of wrote this:
1980s - Cracking/Import groups
1990s - Cool/Creative/Demo groups
2000-2006 - Awesome Demo/Music groups
2007 - lame fake groups (on CSDB only!)
please forgive me :'( I don't want to become a nata.

It isn't up to Perff fixing CSDb.... It's up to us users stop posting silly images in threads, doing silly flaming on people etc... Spend your energy in more productive ways instead. Most often mass ignoring stupid/silly behaviour and not give the pleasue of attention helps, something I'm bad at practising unfortunatly. |

What about a kind of credits-system, for each release you get (un)official seal of acceptance to post like 3 silly pics, or ruin 1 thread (more if the release is big or involves skilled coding etc.) That way you'd be motivated to do releases in anticipation of what you can *then* do in forum/dramascene. |

If we should seriously think about some credit system, then first allow me my 'search for unlocked entries".
CSDb is decaying... |

It doesn't need any kind of database support necessarily, you can do it in your own head entirely. Just think: here was the release, now come the 3 piccys :) |

Well, IMO it's ok if people understand and appreciate the risks behind emu-only testing, and don't whine of criticism when there happens to be a significant difference. Most awesome sceners probably don't have any need to get alarmed of whether someone else actually owns a C64 or not, they just do hardcore stuff that makes you shit yourself and feel all warm inside. |

Using emulators - Is OK
+ Testing on the real thing - Is OK
Using emulators only - NOT OK
Anyway, it's always suggested to use a real C64 only.
... "hardcore stuff" ... *LOL* |

i'd try stuff from the late 80s when everyone was exploring raster stuff without (most of the time anyways) exactly knowing what they are doing. a lot of very "dirty" code has been produced in that era, some of which fails miserably on emu =P |

It looks a bit better on CCS64, but I've not seen the demo on a real C64 (shame on me). |
