Event id #1422 : St LCP 2008
Alright, three weeks left until LCP. Let's start building some anticipation! Who will be there, who will release what and who will dominate the rasterbar coding compo? Let's speculate! :D |

Someone said there'd be a new Noice demo.. also, a true C64 release. I know of one more demo, which will win the compo. |

Hehe, yeah, the Noice demo will be there, assuming I get the final parts of the coding done and that a certain musician gets his ass in gear! :D
Though people will be disappointed if they get their hopes up for a full-blown crazy-goat comeback from the old Noice posse like Swoffa etc. - this demo is coded entirely by me (but with gfx/music support from some very talented non-Noice folks).
So someone is bringing a real heavy-hitter certain-to-win demo? Cool, I thought that all the big names were focusing on X08... |

Oh noes, it's the goats that make the Noice demos so.. *special*. They are like a proof of skill, style and originality at the same time. I wouldn't vote for a Noice-demo without goats, no no. </irony>
Gggaaaaaaaahhhh and i F**KN HAAAAAAAATEEEE all those bloody GOATS!! *&/()Q"&¤%&!)#"%&/¤"

I guess you won't be voting much either way HCL, as I don't see your name on the LCP visitor list at all you lamer!
Damn shame, I was looking forward to a real-life presentation of the superior ByteBoozer loading/crunching system! ;D |

No, i woun't be there this year ); how sad. ..and i used to always have double voting *POWAH* on Frantic's arr:s since i always managed to sign up as #64, or luckily find the right answer to Frantic's mad quisses :D.
..but the byteboozer stuff is free to either hack from some of our demos since "cycle", or also availible on the ByteBoozerV1.0 disk :). I will of course introduce you on the next occasion. |

Scandal on LCP - ready all about it here:
After winning the "other platform demo"-compo, I went to the prize table to select from one of the many wonderful prizes.
The one that caught my eye was "Shirley Muldowney's Top Fuel Challenge" for CBM64/128 disk.
I mean a drag racing game from 1987 endorsed by a woman with big 80ies hair and the text 'Authentic Drag Racing Simulator" - how could you go wrong?
However, when I opened the case later I found to my horror that the actual disk was missing! Only the manual was left. What an absolute outrage!!!
:D
But seriously, big thanks to Frantic & co. for a wonderful party! |

Great party, matching compo! I almost fell off my chair with my beer a couple of times during the compos. Especially during the Triad demo. Wow. |

Shadow: Sorry about that. Hehe... Talking about scandals; Another scandal is that you, and two others, left your cars within the party area after we had to leave the place... ...which is supposed to be locked when nobody is there! I hope you got your car by now? If not, get the cars asap! The guy I rented the place from wasn't happy with these cars standing there, I tell ya...(Personally, I am not mad at all. Things like that happen, of course.)
Anyway, thank you all of you who was there for a really great party!
Sorry about the sloppy spreading of the releases, but I had to catch a flight later on the sunday (sitting on a whacky wlan in a hotel room in Brighton right now) and I got to the airport 3 minuts before check in was closed, so I am still rather satisfied with at least having managed to get the releases from my diskbox to the outside world at all. I will try to update the LCP page in a more proper way during the following week. Making releases for other platforms available and so on.
St:LCP for three days instead next time? Anyone? ;)
Cheers!

Shadow: ok.. haha.. sorry for the confusion. Then it was obviously someone elses car. I am still sure that I saw three cars there though. :) I just had this impression that you were the owner of a certain white car. My fault. |

Haha, yeah I'm pretty sure. No alcohol or other intoxication methods for me, so my judgment on which transportation device to take was unimpaired!
The unintoxicated part wasn't true for many of the other visitors though! My favorite was the guy that after the compo was heading for the door. There were a ton of chairs in the way, but he just plowed on - eyes aimed straight ahead. Unfortunately the chairs kind of blocked his way so he got stuck and stumbled. Still, eyes straight ahead and then he uttered something like 'uhhhh'. Best zombie interpretation I have ever seen! :D |

Maybe the same guy who opened a locked cupboard door with brute force in the kitchen? I get the same feeling of delicate sensitivity in both cases. :)
Personally, I will remember things like... the guy who slept under a tree, zapp69's passing out on the ground outside the house for several hours, the paraphrase by someone in the audience of "TRIAD/TRISTATE" into "TRIAD/TRYING TO BE STRAIGHT" in the precisely right moment, Tapers bizarre sitting and sleeping with his face in his lap (looked extremely unconfortable), and a zillion of other things. Most notable of them, probabaly the very good quality of the compo. |

Hehe, nice to hear Frantic will remember me for my weird sleeping position... :)
I will remember things like: a burning A2000 gfx card (that Mogwai later resurrected from the dead) spreading a foul stench of burnt electronics, Hollowman giving me a RamLink (thanks a lot Johan, I will enjoy experimenting with it in conjunction with the BBS!), the glorious compo with so many great productions, all the happy party people and trying to wake up Jucke & Dino on Sunday morning (a task that proved diffucult, not to say impossible...).
Awesome party!

Btw. how was the international presence this year? I think I heard a danish accent, but not much else. The norweigan posse that was at BFP last year (Archmage and GRG) was not present... What about netherlands? No Scout this year, but maybe there was someone else? |

TDA is not ex-TRIAD, he is inactive TRIAD. Important difference... ;)
I'm always surprised by the low amount of danish people on the Floppy/LCP/BFP/St.Lars/St.LCP parties. It's so close, they should come in larger numbers... Devia and Rambones are steady supporters though!
We're still waiting for that busload of germans to arrive by the way... (swedish party organizers know what I mean... ;) |
