Handle id #9588 : Rockin' Ltd.

Having two people mentioned as one scener is not good. We have the group type for this. We also don't have a scener Soedesoft who are the two brothers Jeroen Soede and Michiel Soede.

We already have the group: The Rockin' Ltd. where Frank and Jörg are member of. It doesn't make sense that scener Rockin' Ltd. is also member of the same group.

Although Rockin' Ltd. is sometimes credited in demos/games, I think we should not solve credit problems in csdb by creating a scener for multiple persons. For those credits both Frank and Jörg should be credited like it is done in HVSC.

Shall we dissolve the scener and add Frank and Jörg Schäfers where Rockin' Ltd. is credited?

What if a group handle was used by different people thoughout its existence, or members are not exactly known?
The Fleet comes to mind.
One idea for a workaround could be do add the group as releaser, instead of a specific credit.

I guess it depends on if we want the possibility to add credits verbatim or not.

The fleet is a completely different matter, it's a collective name but it's not a group per se, but part of another group.
In the case of Rockin ltd we have a "scener", a collective name being part of the group with the same name, it's just silly. Simply crediting both of the members would be best.

Same case as Beatmachine being "member" of Beat Machine =)

While you're at it, you might want to sort out the nonsense of TPA and The Picturesque Art. The Picturesque Art was supposed to be a combined handle for the two artists, and not a subgroup of X-Ample.

Crediting all members because you don't know who did it though... I dunno. Sounds like an argument to add The Dark Angle and The Executor as cracking credits to all Dynamic-Duo cracks.

Also, at least two members of The Syndicate have a separate handle entry: Dirk and Mr.Fiend... shouldn't there be a group entry for The Syndicate and then all of them added as credits where currently the scener The Syndicate is added? And will we then add The Syndicate as a co-release group to their The Paco Crew and Beastie Boys releases?

It would be nice if we can make a decision on this. Shall we dissolve the scener and add Frank and Jörg Schäfers where Rockin' Ltd. is credited?

Maybe we should finally think about introducing teams as a mediation between groups and individuals. A cheap solution would be to get the possibility to credit a group instead of only individuals.

Fact is: there are plenty of releases where "non-singular-entities" contributed and hiding the individual behind was on purpose. And sometimes it's impossible to ever get the correct information.

Giving credit to all members might work for The Rockin' Ltd. but what if the team is/was bigger?

I will dissolve the scener in the weekend if nobody is against it.

All credits are rewritten now. Also Jörg and Frank are added to Magnetix. I will now remove the scener.

Case closed.
