Event id #2939 : 2020 quarantine emotional music compo
2020 quarantine emotional music compo
in these tough times, many of us are overwhelmed by sadness, anxiety, fear; or maybe their more positive counterparts (some of us like to be at home after all, some would welcome the world crumble etc. etc.)? this or that, it surely is a good time to introspect.
theme of this music compo is as follows: make the most emotional tune you can. it may sound cheesy, but try to portray e.g. shame or relief this way ;)
the emotion/feeling/sentiment has to be clearly mentioned in the title. not necessarily a one word title, feel encouraged to more.
multiple entries allowed, let's optimistically say three per composer.
the file must run correctly on a stock c64.
covers not allowed.
a winner will be picked by both the public and jury, consisting of three respected musicians from the c64 scene - details to be revealed later - not taking part in the event. there will be two ratings: for overall quality and for recreation of the indicated psychological state of mind; third factor being the csdb score at the moment compo closes (30th of april, 23:59 cet).
prizes: none, just the fame and that exciting sense of achievement.
get creative, have fun and be healthy!

ok, closing time. 33* tunes is a great surprise to me, many thanks for your participation! now, that the creative phase of the compo is over, i have a couple of announcements:
- you are encouraged to vote using CSDb. the ranking of the tunes as of May the 10th, 23:59 will be used to determine the Audience Results.
- meanwhile, the jury of the compo (ladies and gentlemen, please give a round of applause: Hein Holt, Ari-Pekka Paljakka and Adam Waclawski, better known as Hein/Vision, Zardax/Artline and Wacek/Arise) will rate all submissions to form the Jury Results.
- both will be combined into Final Results, i hope to reveal these to the public in the wee small hours of May the 11th.
happy voting!
*the final tune was handed in 2 hours after deadline, close enough not to be excluded i reckon. |
