Event id #3090 : Galway Pastiche Compo 2021
So with the Follin and Hubbard pastiche compos being released, I figured it was only inevitable that I would do one with my favorite SID (and probably overall) artist and personal inspiration, Martin Galway. With the extremely unnecessary fanboyism out of the way, here are the rules:
-No covers or remixes.
-Entr(y/ies) should be at least one minute long.
-Needs to be based on Galway's style (Reverb, pulse wizardry, brain-melting sound effects, digital drums, etc.)
-Single file, must be executable on a vanilla C64.
-Results will be done on a good ol' vote sheet where I'll occasionally forget entire entries and might not remember to make sure each entry needs a vote. Like Nonstandard Time Signature Compo 2021, voting closes at the end of September 19th CET and results should be out by the 26th.
-No limits on number of entries per composer. Just have fun! |

Great idea to run two music compos at the same time - not? |

Could combine them into a non-standard Galway competition. |

But Galway didn't really use nonstandard time signatures, he mostly used 4/4 and 3/4 with a few exceptions. I'm mostly just doing the Nonstandard Compo myself since Karmic didn't put it up until now. |

Eric, but i believe Jens was sarcastic. the whole idea of starting two compos simultaneously, with a good few running already, may not be that bright :| people do want to participate, but they have limited output capabilities, the day is still 24h only. |

I agree that there are too many compos already :/ And, subsequently each will have few people participating, sadly. I planned to launch one in August but, seeing compo overload, decided it's probably not the best moment. Holiday season to that. |

Agrees. It's one thing with some "fun compos for the giggles" running at the same time, but yeah... not a good idea to run multiple high end music compos at the same time, as it will only mean less entries in each compo. |

I guess Deizi already won this compo back in 2004?

Semi-related (but yeah, a cover too)
I did a Beatles cover 10 years ago of "Eight days a week", based on Martin Galways sound on Mikie (where he did a cover of "Hard day's night")
