Handle id #4385 : Maniac
Hi all,
is anyone still in contact with the Maniac from GP? Please get back to me, I'm trying to get some things right here for the (HVSC). Obviously the directory /VARIOUS/M-R/Maniac/ doesn't belong to Kim Ingvorsen (also known under the handle Maniac), but to Marcel. Also, if Kim Ingvorsen is still around, at least he could confirm that he didn't do these tunes. |

Quote: Argh.. Hmm, Bad luck, I guess! Seems there´s only one guy in Denmark to be found with that name. And oddly enough he says, he has nothing to do with the C64... Hmmmm ... :-(

Well,Dishy..
You did find him!!
It definately is Maniac.
Guess he considers the scene a closed topic.
Please everybody respect his choice.. |

I thought so! Weird!! Guess people have a very different opinion about the old c64 days then!
I just read, what you wrote at his profile - Johan, did you also try to contact him or is it only Mason who did that?

Ok Johan, you just did an edit at you post. Of course we respect that. But it´s a shame, I think. But that´s it!

No,that was me,who wrote that trivia.
Mason contacted the same Kim earlier this year.
He got the same ´denial´ then.
But seeing the picture,I am 100% sure it is Maniac.
R.C.S. has met him a couple of times in the past years.
He was very avoiding.
As far as I remember,Kim was really fed-up with the scene, when he quit.
Seems he still feels that way. |

I do understand why most old sceners doesn´t come back to the C64scene today, as it´s so damn many years ago. But why some old sceners actually deny their c64scene past and can´t even say hello today, if they´re contacted by an old c64scener - I guess exact THAT point I´ll never ever understand! ;-)

Exactly. Seems crazy.
Maybe they view that part of their life as a dark past. Who knows.

@Dishy: People tend to avoid their past because of many factors. The most common one Ive heard/experienced, is because of their current job position. That their past would not look that too good in the CV. Sad, but at the same point something we all have to respect.
@TCH: Did RCS really hire a detective to find you? or is that just a bad joke I dont get.. :)

@Iopop: Nope,it is not a joke.
One day I checked the mail and there was a letter from a P.I.-agency.
Seems it was really hard to track me down, not having internet, but they eventually managed.
And I am grateful to R.C.S. ever since!! 8D |

@Iopop: You´re probably right about that one - in some very special cases. I´ve also got an old friend from the c64scene, who says, that - maybe - it would not be that good for him, if all the connections he has today knew about his past in the illegal cracking scene. Today he has many connections in the computer gaming industry etc., and back then he used to crack and supply their games, LOL ;-)
Also maybe AT&T, MCI, the postoffice etc. wouldn´t feel that safe to have too much cooperation with all of us, haha;)
But to be honest, I don´t think, that those firms would actually care about that today. I know, that today lot´s of old c64 sceners are doing high-class workmanship in IT-firms, and all of them started their IT-career on the C64. That´s pretty cool, I think!
I think, firms they should even be very honoured working with old c64 sceners - and I know at least some firms are ;-)
