<Post edited by chatGPZ on 25/10-2007 20:07>

(just copying what i already posted in the comment to that compo)
64er 6/93 has screenshots of the 10 preselected entries. (uploaded here: http://img514.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pixelprachtzr3.jpg)
64er 9/93 announces the results:
1. "Clown" - Boris Müller
2. "Silver and Stone" - Daniel Kottmair (== Steel and Atone, Deekay/Crest)
3. "Voodoo Queen" - Rudolf Rönsch
4. "Manowar" - Irfan Celik (== Triumpf of Steel, Ivan/Smash Designs)
5. "Fisch" - Karl 'Ogami' Shew (Ogami/Fairlight)
6. "Dragon Wars" - Roland Tögel (Crossbow/Crest)
7. "Dragon Wars" - Irfan Celik (Ivan/Smash Designs)
8. "Delaney's World" - Manuel Rieger
9. "Cyberpunk" - Karl 'Ogami' Shew (Ogami/Fairlight)
place 1-3 should be on the disk from 64er 9/93
other trivia: place 6 and 7 are copies of the same boris vallejo picture =) |

thanks for the insight.. heres me thinking they were cool.
they are to a point, but after seeing that, less so as fair people... I don't see why they needed to do that, just makes themselves look silly.
It's quite a dirty tactic employed just to win some crappy prize, flood the comp with various demos etc. then the odds are greatly increased. It's probably against people who classed them as friends, which makes it more ironic.

Boris Müller the painter (?) of the clown is definately Chipsi, the picture was also in the intro of his game 12 O'Clock. It looks digitized to me and after-worked. |

I can safely say that the Delaney's World picture was drawn by Slice around 1991/1992.
He's from my hometown and was a very close friend back then. I remember i even had workstages of the pic on some disk.
After our 1990 demo Beauty Snooze he then later joined Crest and was involved in two Crest demos.
Seems that Crossbow just took some unused pics of Crest ex-members and entered the competition without giving credit to the original artists.
Guess he was keen on the prices. Pretty lame if you ask me. |

OK, sounds plausible enough - credit added, mystery solved.
No comment on whether that way of releasing was good style. ;) |
