Release id #24182 : Purple Turtles

(C) Quicksilva [Argus Press Software] 1983

http://www.gb64.com/game.php?id=6025&d=18&h=0

do we really need these 198x games in the database ? they`re worse than TWRs cracks. often people add them but dont bother to create entries for the people who made these games. what sense does it make to have a game in the db without any credits ? it has nothing to do with the c64 scene imo. theres gamebase64 for it.

Another example: Acrojet -(C) Microprose 1985

If it isn't a crack, then remove? Something might be added in the SYS-line though, so this might be a case of lacking proper credits.

commercial releases which are clearly no cracks should be deleted, go for it. (check the exceptions in the rules though, eg a lot of stuff published on magic disk would belong here, because it was made by scene groups)

I think this 'Zyron' guy who entered this game doesn't have a clue how csdb works. That's the problem with people like that, they find this site, use it (wrong) for a short time, and then leave again .. ;)

what about freeware games from the 80s ? some Robert Moore releases a freeware game in 1983,does it make him a scener and this game belong to this database just because it was released for free ?

thats a border case

Freeware
Generally Freeware Games released by non Scene Groups (or individuals) fall into a similar cathegory as other "originals". We'd much prefer a "crack" (by our definition) over a simple dump of the original Game which is available for free anyway.
However we are aware of the fact that some people start(ed) making games to release to the "scene" just like others prefer making demos, which would qualify them as "scene release" by itself.

so mmh. generally they should not be added, unless they were made by sceners. (and we dont want gazillions of shitty basic "games" etc here do we?)
