Release id #81153 : Crest Slide Story 90%
Can anyone confirm this one is working on the 1541? Always crashes after the intro for me with an endless beeep of the sid and a black screen). I tried all possible configurations (with/without cart, different 1541 ROMs, IEC device turned off, etc.). Could be my c64 is slowly dying, but I wanted to make sure.
(Edit: Just tried Andropolis and apart from some ugly glitches in the very first few seconds (the screen clearing) it worked just fine here. Hints on what could be broken on my 64 appreciated as well) |

At least it works from the image requester. And thanks for making the change disk requester a press space one. These often cause problems for the 1541U (EoD comes to mind with occasional crashes when changing disks).
By the way, I have some single flickering pixels on the right side of the screen during display of the NUFLI pics. Is that anything to worry about? Does that hint at a flakey VIC or something? |

One more hint after having fully watched it. It crashes again when trying to load the endpart. Loading the "Happy End" part manually, it works just fine. |

WTF, it was that bastard of a brand new Competition Pro joystick (Speedlink, the re-release) plugged into port 2! Now everything works great!
The switch was in middle position (auto fire mode?), in case anyone cares. Aarrrgh, delete this thread, dear mods.
(Edit: Now also the screen fade of Andropolis works without bugs. Meeeeh.) |
