Handle id #11302 : Detonator 4001

I was wondering if this scener is really called Detonator 4001.
Probably more Detonator of 4001 Team as the Intro II i've uploaded today says "The 4001 Team are The Detonator and TLM...".
An entry for 4001 Team does not exist yet.

He is/was.

It was popular for them to have a number.
They emulated 1001 crew :)

FCG 1941
Gamebusters 1541

and so on...

lots of examples

This is very very rare, writing 4001 as logo.
He was just always know as Detonator, and sometimes Detonator 4001. 4001 was used as part of his name.

I think you're right in this case. But it's very confusing.
He always wrote "The Detonator presents..." or "The Detonator in 4001 presents..." but never "The Detonator 4001 presents...", but in Thing II Music he wrote "write to Detonator 4001...".
But when i read "4001 Team are The Detonator and TLM..." it's for me very clearly that it's more a group name instead of a suffix to his scener name.

Apart from that, i know not just since yesterday about the scene. ;)
I more or less followed the scene since the mid 80's, so i know about the popularity of names with numbers at a particular time. But that were mostly groupnames with a number appendix, not single sceners.

Well if it seems correct, then make 4001 group and add the 2 guys to it..

Perhaps the usage was similar to: Seven Up vs. Seven-Up Crew?
It could also be that The Detonator used Detonator 4001 as handle but later used it as groupname too.
Perhaps just for that release. We need more clues...

Not sure if this helps at all, but he once posted comments to his intros on intros.c64.org and for http://intros.c64.org/main.php?module=showintro&iid=296 he wrote:

Hi folks! this is one of my intros ...se also
www.c64hq.com for DETONATOR 4001 demos...
the name is to be exact: The Detonator in 4001
greetings to ZZAP(SCC), FAC,MZP (TLC/FCG), F4CG ( Italy)...and all old friends & fans from the 80ies

Exact handle is DETONATOR 4001, he was in touch with Franz/IBB, he was really fast in trading own prods & scene warez. He lived in Berlin/Germany, I suppose his father moved from Italy to Berlin. So he spoke German&Italians.
As far as I know he was not in a team.
My phrase is at the past but I suppose he is still alive&kickin'!

Shaduine+/Success mentions a Detonator being kicked. Is that him?

And the discussion: here's a 4001 Team Intro.

So tlr is right, and the 4001 merged into his nick name later.
