Could UGS be the former Kingsoft programmer Udo Gertz ?
Udo Gertz later on had his own software company called "GCS Software". |

Yes. Well, I imagine he wanted to distance himself in someway for legal reasons? :P
Snoopy worked for Kingsoft together with 1103/JEDI on the Atari ST. Also, some of the guys in GCS later worked for Rainbow Arts. |

In a old (1987) interview, MS of 2703 Group says that despite the name GCS isn't completely a german group. 3 members came from (West) Germany, 2 from Italy.
