Err, does it anywhere on the site claim to be about pixelling? I got the impression that it's an exhibition about modern game art, not oldschool pixel art. Can't see what's lame about that. Or is pixelling the only acceptable art form?

yes. pixel art is associated with pixeled/pixelized images and not with PS.

Radiantx: I'm just talking about scene relevance here.
But PS pixelling/painting/whatever is absolutely valid as an artform.

Oswald: The exhibition doesn't claim to be about pixel art. It's just an art exhibition called "Into the Pixel".

ah right, sorries. "into the pixel" art exhibition, and not "into the pixel art" exhibition... :D anyhow I can hardly connect these images with computing and "pixel".

About this exhibition.

It seems at the time you posted about it here in the forum, d0c, it was already too late for anyone to send the submissions. I am awaiting some answer from the organizers and if we are lucky they might be able to push the deadline.

In that case there will most likely be something from James, even if it might be old to our eyes... :)

This is the letter I recieved. Better luck next year, all you crazy c64 artists :D

------

Hi Eddie,

Are you an artist? Were you wanting to submit art to the jury? If so, you will need to wait until next year. We have just announced the artworks selected for the 2007 Collection. (See www.IntoThePixel.com.)

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
- Pattie

then hopefully great artists from csdb will bomb them with c64 gfx next year..... some of the gfx here at csdb will do great on big posters and placed on a wall for everyone to see :)

or maybe csdb should have their own art exhibition?...

And who's gonna decide what is art or not ;)
I'd say, it's to the sceners - they have all possiblities of passing the sceneborder.
