The Plus/4 is a cool computer, and I love the colors it have! Great conversions! |

IMHO, most of the pieces became dull and boring, especially Archmage's pictures. The high contrast and the unorthodox color-mixing is what made them unique.
However, Veto's and Leon's style (smudgy, water-painting/pastel alike pixelling) gains quite a bit when there are more than 16 colors to chose from. |

First I was like. Wow, they look so much better.
But after looking for a while, the C64 ones has their own charm. The +4 versions became more "crisp & clean" in a way, and that isnt always a good thing. Like the Archmage and Duce pics.
However liked the plus4 version of "Tasmanian Dummy's Hangover". Gets me in a Amiga anno 1994 Melondesign mood ;) |

Speaking for myself, that is not how my pictures are supposed to look. It is sort of like playing a tune on the wrong SID-chip. That said, it is an interesting experiment. |

@archmage
yup - just an experiment and a way to inspire you and others to try 121 colors palete with regualr hires restrictions. |

actually i like the idea that there are versions of the pics available to watch on other machines.
well, i agree that impression and atmosphere changes this way, but this is something which makes it interesting for me. to get examples how details might look with more straight color transitions. or that it is also possible to show gfx in a border on the +4. |

GFX on the Plus4 is approaching near or enough quality similar to Atari ST (With its FLI variant) If only the C64 had these colors in non-interlaced mode |
